HANNES VON DHREN

Hannes von Dhren was born in Berlin, Germany in 1979. After completing

his studies (graphic design) in 2005, he worked in an advertising agency in

Hamburg, Germany. since 2007 he has been working as a freelancing art

director in Berlin, which allows him to spend some of his time developing

fonts as well. in 2008 he made his passion to his profession and founded

his own type foundry HVD fonts. Within the last years he released several

typefamilies like Brevia, Brandon Grotesque or Cowboyslang.

LIVIUS DIETZEL

Born in 1979, livius Dietzel studied Visual Communication at the University

of the Arts, Berlin. During this time, he also studied at the Universitat de

Barcelona and the london College of Communication. in summer of 2008,

he completed his graduation thesis in Prof. Fons Hickmanns Graphic De-

sign Class. since 2003, livius has been working as a freelance Art Director,

and since 2008, he has also been part of the team at metaDesign Berlin.

for his work he has won prizes such as the red Dot, the if Award and the

tDC Certificate of typographic excellence. His latest type designs are

itC Chino and livory. ff Basic Gothic is his third type family he designed

in collaboration with Hannes von Dhren.
