The New Generation Santa Fe is available with 2 Wheel Drive (2WD) or Torque on Demand 4 Wheel Drive (4WD). Torque on Demand works by directing power to all four wheels only when adverse road conditions require it, which is especially useful during the winter months where the roads may be icy or snowy. It means you’ll benefit from more grip when you need it – and better economy when you don’t. Then, when the going gets really tough, you’ll take advantage of technologies such as the 4WD lock mode which provides better traction. We’ve also fitted Hill-start Assist which engages on inclines greater than 4.5 degrees to stop you rolling backwards. And we’ve provided

assistance on steep descents too. That’s thanks to Downhill Brake Control as standard, which means you don’t have to hold the brake as the system controls the descent at a safe, gentle pace. No matter what the terrain, you’ll also benefit from Flex Steer, which has three modes: comfort, normal and sport. It allows you to adjust the steering settings so they suit the type of environment you’re in. Choose Torque on Demand 4WD for extra reassurance, or select the 2WD model to maintain that SUV style, all while optimising fuel economy and reducing CO2 emissions. Whether it’s rugged surfaces or tricky weather conditions, you’ll enjoy a responsive driving experience in any situation.

The New Generation Santa Fe is both powerful and efficient. It comes with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission to give you total flexibility on the open road. We’ve been extremely dedicated when it comes to refinement, right down to incoporating sound-insulating film into the windscreen. Coupled with thicker front door glass, it means that wind and road noise has been significantly reduced. And it produces plenty of power thanks to its 2.2 CRDi 197PS engine which delivers 422Nm torque, resulting in a maximum braked towing weight of 2,500 kg on manual models. What’s more, we’ve refused to

compromise efficiency at all. That's due to clever engineering like the Torque on Demand 4WD system. This ensures that, unlike some 4WD systems, it only applies the drive to all four wheels when needed, helping it deliver 46.3 MPG with CO2 emissions starting at 159g/km. The 2WD model is even more economical since we’ve designed it with optimum efficiency in mind – up to 47.9 MPG with emissions of 155g/km. In short, the Santa Fe is no ordinary SUV. Travel further between fuel stops enjoying total sophistication all the way. The perfect combination of performance and efficiency.

A variety of active and passive safety features make the New Generation Santa Fe one of the safest cars on the road. Passive safety features, such as front, front side, curtain and driver’s knee airbags give you maximum protection. You’ll also benefit from ISOfix child seat anchorage points to strap your kids in safe and sound, as well as an Emergency Stop Signal which will flash your brake lights in an emergency braking situation, warning other cars to slow down behind you. Active safety features include the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), which reduces the risk of over steer

and under steer, as well as the Braking Assist System (BAS) which increases the braking pressure in an emergency. When towing, Trailer Stability Assist instantly detects trailer instability and reduces engine torque – automatically initiating the braking of individual wheels to bring everything back under control. It also comes with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) which helps maintain directional stability when suddenly braking or accelerating on varying road surfaces where traction among the tyres can become uneven. It delivers steering assistance automatically, so you can

feel secure no matter what road conditions you encounter. And it’s not just you and your passengers we’re looking after, it’s pedestrians too. That’s why we’ve developed our Active Bonnet System which uses fibre optics to initially detect a collision. Once detected, the active bonnet is raised by 60 mm in less than 0.2 of a second, cushioning the initial impact. With such a wide range of active and passive safety features, you’ll be able to completely relax in the New Generation Santa Fe. It’s built for luxury and adventure, but safety is always our main priority.
