NAME OF THE WORK : CONSTRUCTION OF WATER TREATMENT PLANT, RAW
WATER PUMPING MAINS , PUMPSETS, CLEAR WATER SUMP & STAFF QUARTERS
TO CPWS SCHEME FOR PEDDAPALLY AND RAMAGUNDAM CONSTITUENCIES OF
KARIMNAGAR DISTRICT.
Est.Cost:Rs. 108.00 Crs
Administrative sanction:The work “Consruction of Water treatment plant, Raw water
pumping mains, Pumpsets, Clear water sump & Staff Quarters to CPWS Scheme for
Peddapally & Ramagundam Constituencies of Karimnagar District ” is administratively
sanctioned Vide GO.Rt No: 218 , Dt: 02-04-2015 by Principal Secretary of PR&RD,
Govt. Of Telanagana.
Scope of work:- As it has been envisaged to provide potable water to doorstep (upto Kitchen level ) , by the Government of Telangana, from the reliable and dependable source , to cover Peddapally & Ramagundam Assembly Constituencies in Karimnagar District with Protected Water Supply Scheme by drawing raw water from back water of Ellampally Project as a part of the Telangana Water Grid. Present Scope of work: It is proposed to Water treatment plant, Raw water pumping mains, Pumpsets, Clear water sump & Staff Quarters in view to complete the work to safe during the summer and before rainy season. Necessity of Present Proposal
Presently the area under the proposal of Water Grid, is partly having water supply with ground water at various Habitations in 7 mandals and the water is being supplied at a level varying from 20LPCD to 40LPCD in rural areas and in Ramagundam Muncipal Corporation the drinking water is being supllied from infiltration wells in Godavari which is not dependable as the Yellampally barraige has been constructed on the upstream side, due to which the yield has been decreased in infiltration wells. There is no dependability even for this level of supply, as the water is generally released depending upon the cropping demand and various other factors. Now it is proposed to plan for 100LPCD level of water supply, through closed conduit system, hence the other losses of Evaporation, seepage and other seepage losses can be avoided. The present drinking water project is designed to supply safe drinking water for a total population of 564722 ( 2011) in 7 Mandals and 2 Municipal Corporations of Karimnagar District which includes 228 habitations (Peddapally 49 Habs, Odela 33 Habs, Srirampur 40 Habs,

Ramagudam 19 Habs (Total Habs in Ramgundam Mandal are 41 Habs & in WB grant 6 Habs covered & 4 Habs to be covered in Manthani Grid & 12 Habs are proposed in NRDWP 8.00 Crores NRDWP Estimate & balance 12 Habs are being proposed in this Grid), Eligaid 19 Habs, Julapally 18 Habs & Sulthanabad 48 Habs). Flow Chart of MVS:- MVS Scheme is designed to cover all 7 Mandals, and 1 Municipal Corporation & 1 Nagarpanchayath of Karimnagar District , as the existing DW water is not sufficient to serve the total required level of water supply of 100LPCD. Proposal plan :: Raw water pumping main from back water of Yellampally project drawing water from Existing Intake well Near Murmur village of Moulana Abdul Kalam Srujala Sravanthi water supply sheme to GHMWS of Ramagundam mandal and supplied to Head works proposed GHMWS premises and clear water will be pumped to Sump at Peddagunta which will serve Peddapally Urban branch will be pumped Ramagundam urban Population and 1 TMC of will be pumped directly to FCI Foctory using serate pumpsets. ency rural and urban habitations in Karimnagar dist.
