Rumour has it that the same bearded

gentleman may be making an appearance

at tonight’s picnic in the school grounds.

Bring your tea and enjoy a community

gathering, hopefully in the sun, between

5pm and 7pm.

The Room 8 children proudly show their

Christmas crafts made on Wednesday

Advent - A time of waiting Waiting can be tough, but it can

also be a good time to slow

down and think about how we

are treating people and helping

them.

We light the candle on the

Advent wreath to help us think

of the light of Christ. The light

gets brighter and brighter and

we know that it is getting closer

and closer to Jesus being born.

The evergreen leaves remind us

that God’s love lasts for ever.

The St Bernadette’s School community would like to thank the Bendigo Valley Foundation for their very generous

donation towards our school camp last week. Fifty one Year 5 and 6 children spent four wonderful days at Berwick

Camp and had an amazing time. Here are some reflections from the children.

I enjoyed seeing adults and teachers not being serious and doing all of the activities, acting like they were our age. ’

‘I enjoyed the flying fox the most. My first time I closed my eyes and pushed off. When I opened my eyes I was going so

fast that my eyebrows almost fell off.’

‘The Edmund Rice young adults from Kavanagh were amazing. What wonderful role models they were for us.’

‘Seeing all the adults and teachers having so much fun and having a smile on their face made me smile too. Thank you

so much Bendigo Trust for donating so much money for us.’

‘We had the time of our lives at the confidence course. I probably did the whole thing once or twice.’

‘I was super nervous on the tightrope in the confidence course but I did it and felt super shaky while on it.’

‘We had the best food there! It was so yum! I think that the spider web in the initiative course was my favourite thing. ’

‘At Berwick Camp we had awesome fun, there was a fast wet water slide and an amazing flying fox.

‘I enjoyed the orienteering with my brother and the confidence course. I loved the Berwick’s Got Talent show.

‘Even though I was nervous about going on the flying fox I really liked it and it was one of my highlights at camp.’

‘Without a doubt one of my favourite things was the food. With every meal I ate it just got better and better.’

‘The bunking and socialising was fun and I made loads of new friends. I felt respected.’

‘The most spectacular activity was Berwick’s got talent, everyone made a huge effort. Talent comes from the heart.’

‘I loved the kayaking, dodgeball, wacky races, sauna, orienteering, bunking and Berwick’s Got talent.’

‘I really enjoyed seeing Mrs Waldron going down the Flying Fox.’

‘I will never forget my trip at Berwick.’

‘Thank you Smith City very much for letting for doing the sausage sizzle. You helped us a lot with raising some money

for camp and we had lots and lots of fun.’

‘The camp was brilliant thanks to the parents and teachers for helping us.’

‘When I first went kayaking I was freaked out because I did not know how to use the kayak, but after a while I learned

how to use it and I felt really confident.’

‘I was amazed of how hot the sauna was. I also enjoyed the Wacky Races even though we lost.’‘

Thank you everyone for helping us with the camp. We appreciate it. May God bless you.’
