Supplication at the First Hour mp3

The first hour of the day, which is the space of time between dawn and sunrise, is dedicated to Imam Àl¢ Am¢r al-Mu'min¢n (à).

all¡humma rabba albah¡'i بهاء وٱلعظمةاللهم رب ٱلwalàämati

O Allah, O Lord of brilliance, greatness,

لطانٱلساء وريبٱلكو walkibriy¡'i walssul§¡ni grandeur, and authority!

a¨harta alqudrata kayfa shi'ta ظهرت ٱلقدرة كيف شئت�اYou have demonstrated the power as You wished,

كترغفبم كادبلى عننت عمو wa mananta àl¡ ìb¡dika bimaghfiratika

bestowed upon Your servants with Your forgiveness,

كوترببج همليلطت عتسو wa tasalla§ta àlayhim bijabar£tika dominated over them with Your supremacy,

كتمنع شكر متهلمعو wa àllamtahum shukra ni`matika and taught them how to thank Your graces.

اللهم فبحق علي ٱلمرتضى للدين

all¡humma fabi¦aqqi àliyyin almurta¤¡ lildd¢ni

O Allah, in the name of Àl¢, the well-pleased for the religion,

¡wal`¡limi bil¦ukmi wa maj¡r¢ alttuq وٱلعالم بٱلحكم ومجاري ٱلتقىthe well-versed with the judgment and the streams of piety,

ينتقام ٱلمإم im¡mi almuttaq¢na and the leader of the pious,

صل على محمد وآله في ولين وٱآلخرين�ٱال

¥alli àl¡ Muhammadin wa ¡lih¢ f¢ al-awwal¢na wal-¡khir¢na

(please) send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household among the past and the coming generations,

wa uqaddimuh£ bayna yaday بين يدي حوائجيقدمه �وا¦aw¡'ij¢

and I present him (i.e. Àl¢) as my mediation for the settling of my needs,

wa khalla¥ta f¢hi ahla alththiqati bika ìnda j£dika

Through it (i.e. knowledge), You have accurately selected those having full trust in You, out of Your magnanimity.

fata`¡layta f¢ kibriy¡'ika يائكفتعاليت في كبرSo, exalted by You in Your grandeur

علوا عظمت فيه منتك على هل طاعتك�ا

ùluwwan àümat f¢hi minnatuka àl¡ ahli §¡àtika

with such exaltation due to which Your conferrals upon the people of obedience to You have been immense.

هل سماواتك �فباهيت بهم اهمليع كنتبم

fab¡hayta bihim ahla samaw¡tika biminnatika àlayhim

You therefore boasted the inhabitants of Your heavens about Your favoring upon them (i.e. the obedient to You).

يلن عن بسٱلح قفبح مالله لك�سا�عليك ا

all¡humma fabi¦aqqi al¦asani bni àliyyin àlayka as'aluka

O Allah, in the name the regard of al-°asan, the son of Àl¢, with You I beseech You,

wa bih¢ astagh¢thu ilayka ستغيث إليك�وبه اand in his name too, I seek Your succor

£wa addaba bihim ìb¡dah دب بهم عباده�واthrough whom He has disciplined His servants,

وجعلهم حججا منا منه على هخلق

wa jaàlahum ¦ujajan mannan minhu àl¡ khalqih¢

and whom He has made arguments against His creatures, out of His favor!

ق ٱلحسين بن عليلك بح�سا�اas'aluka bi¦aqqi al¦usayni bni àliyyin

I beseech You in the name of al-°usayn the son of Àl¢,

الما ٱلسهمليع àlayhim¡ alssal¡mu peace be upon both of them,

كضاترمٱلتابع ل طبٱلس alssib§i altt¡biì limar¤¡tika the grandson who is subservient to Your pleasure,

لك بنورك ٱلذي نورت به �سا�ا رضين�ٱلسماوات وٱال

as'aluka bin£rika alladh¢ nawwarta bih¢ alssam¡w¡ti wal-ara¤¢na

I beseech You in the name of Your Light by which You have lit up the heavens and the layers of the earth,

,wa qa¥amta bih¢ aljab¡birata annihilated the tyrants وقصمت به ٱلجبابرة


,wa a¦yayta bih¢ al-amw¡ta restored the dead to life موات�ٱال حييت به�وا

,wa amatta bih¢ al-a¦y¡'a caused the alive to die حياء�مت به ٱال�وا

as'aluka bi¦aqqi waliyyka àliyyi bni al¦usayni

I beseech You in the name of Your vicegerent, Àl¢ the son of al-°usayn,

الما ٱلسهمليع àlayhim¡ alssal¡mu peace be upon both of them,

aldhdh¡bbi àn d¢nika who defended Your religion كٱلذاب عن دين

كبيلي سف داهجٱلمو walmuj¡hidi f¢ sab¢lika and strove painstakingly for Your sake;

O Allah, O Lord of brightness, greatness,

لطانٱلساء وريبٱلكر وٱلنوو walnn£ri walkibriy¡'i walssul§¡ni light, grandeur, and authority!

كائهب ةظمت بعربتج tajabbarta biàämati bah¡'ika You have practiced omnipotence in the greatness of Your brilliance,

فتك �ومننت على عبادك براكتمحرو

wa mananta àl¡ ìb¡dika bira'fatika wa ra¦matika

conferred upon Your servants with the favor of Your kindness and mercy,

رضاك ودوجلى مع مللتهدو wa dalaltahum àl¡ mawj£di ri¤¡ka showed them where Your pleasure lies,

وجعلت لهم دليال يدلهم على كتبحم

wa jaàlta lahum dal¢lan yadulluhum àl¡ ma¦abbatika

and made for them a sign guiding them to Your love,


كابحم مهلمعيو wa yuàllimuhum ma¦¡bbaka teaching them the items that You love,

كيئتشلى مع ملهديو wa yadulluhum àl¡ mash¢'atika and showing them Your volition.

قفبح ماللهيلن عب دمحم all¡humma fabi¦aqqi Muhammadi bni àliyyin

O Allah, in the name of the regard of Muhammad, the son of Àl¢,

wa la§ufa àn ma`¡n¢ aljal¡li ولطف عن معاني ٱلجاللand too subtle above all significances of majesty!

I beseech You in the name of the light of Your Face and the brightness of Your grandeur

هاء خلقعد ندع بقر نا مي y¡ man qaruba ìnda du`¡'i khalqih¢ O He Whose is Nigh when His creatures pray Him!

نوضطرٱلم اهعد نا مي y¡ man da`¡hu almu¤§arr£na O He Whom is supplicated by the distressed,

wa razaqa awliy¡'ah£ kulla khayrin ولياءه كل خير�ورزق اand has provided His intimate servants with all prosperity!

هنور اتاومال ٱلسع نا مي y¡ man àl¡ alssam¡w¡ti n£ruh£ O He Whose light has gone up the heavens,

,wal-ar¤a ¤aw'uh£ Whose beam has gone up the earth رض ضوؤه�وٱال

تهمحر بٱلغرو قٱلشرو walshsharqa walgharba ra¦matuh£ and Whose mercy has gone up the east and the west!

ودٱلج عاسا وي y¡ w¡sià alj£di O Ample in magnanimity,

لك بحق علي بن موسى �سا�ا ٱلرضا

I beseech You in the name of Àl¢, the son of M£s¡, the well-contented,

Supplication at the Ninth Hour mp3

The ninth hour, which is the space of time between the Afternoon Prayer up to two hours after that, is dedicated to Imam Muhammad ibn Àl¢ al-Taq¢ (à).

جابهم�يا من دعاه ٱلمضطرون فاy¡ man da`¡hu almu¤§arr£na fa'aj¡bahum

O He Who, when the distressed prayed Him, responded to them,

waltaja'a ilayhi alkh¡'if£na إليه ٱلخائفون فآمنهم �وٱلتجاfa'¡manahum

when the afraid had recourse with Him, granted them security,

مهفشكر ونعٱلطائ هدبعو wa àbadah£ al§§¡'i`£na fashakarahum

when the obedient served Him, thanked them,

ماهبفح نونمؤٱلم هشكرو wa shakarah£ almu'min£na fa¦ab¡hum

when the believers thanked Him, favored upon them,

wa a§¡`£hu faà¥amahum طاعوه فعصمهم�واwhen they obeyed Him, safeguarded them,

,wa sa'al£hu fa'a`§¡hum when they asked Him, gave them عطاهم�لوه فا�وسا

هخل شكري فلم تهموا نعنسو نمقلوبهم

wa nas£ ni`matah£ falam yukhli shukrah£ min qul£bihim

and when they forgot His grace, did not evacuate thanking Him from their hearts;

همل ٱسعجي فلم همليع تنٱمومهندا عينسم

wamtanna àlayhim falam yajàl ismah£ mansiyyan ìndahum

and He favored them when He did not make His Name forgotten by them.

I beseech You in the name of Muhammad, the son of Àl¢,



غةالٱلب كتجح ¦ujjatika alb¡lighati You conclusive argument,

The tenth hour, which is the space of time between two hours after the Afternoon Prayer and the time before the sun is colored yellowish, is dedicated to Imam Àl¢ ibn Muhammad al-Naq¢ (à).

ظمال فعع نا مي y¡ man àl¡ faàüma O He Who is Exalted and thus All-great!

ربلط فتجتس نا مي y¡ man tasalla§a fatajabbara O He Who is All-powerful and thus Omnipotent!

wa tajabbara fatasalla§a وتجبر فتسلطO He Who is Omnipotent and thus All-powerful!

زهي عف رتكبز فٱسع نا مي y¡ man àzza fsstakbara f¢ ìzzih¢ O He Who is Almighty and thus All-grand in His almightiness!

ةريرا بال آخا آخيو wa y¡ ¡khiran bil¡ ¡khiriyyatin O Ultimate without having end!

همدقنتهى لما بال موا قيي y¡ qayy£man bil¡ muntah¡ liqidamih¢ O Self-Subsisting without there being termination of His eternity!

هزتعطاع لزيزا بال ٱنقا عي y¡ àz¢zan bil¡ inqi§¡ìn liìzzatih¢ O Almighty without cessation of His almightiness!

لطانهس نم فلطا بال ضعتسا مي y¡ mutasalli§an bil¡ ¤a`fin min sul§¡nih¢

O All-powerful without there being weak point in His overpowering!

O He Who has excluded Himself lonely from His creatures!

O He Who has sufficed Himself from His creatures by His making!

هبلطف خلقه هنفس فرع نا مي y¡ man àrrafa nafsah£ khalqah£ bilu§fih¢

O He Who has introduced Himself to His creatures out of His gentleness!

هل طاعته �يا من سلك باضاتهرم

y¡ man salaka bi'ahli §¡àtih¢ mar¤¡tah£

O He Who has led the people of obedience to Him to His pleasure!


هل محبته على �عان ا�يا من امشكره

y¡ man a`¡na ahla ma¦abbatih¢ àl¡ shukrihim

O He Who has helped the people of love for Him to thank Him!

I beseech You in the name of the regard of the Righteous Successor, peace be upon him, with You,

مرت �مر ٱلذين ا�ولي ٱال�اهمتبطاع

ul¢ al-amri alladh¢na amarta bi§¡àtihim

the men of authority whom You have ordered us to obey,

مرت �رحام ٱلذين ا�ولي ٱال�واهملتبص

wa ul¢ al-ar¦¡mi alladh¢na amarta bi¥ilatihim

the kindred by blood whom You have ordered us to connect,

ينى ٱلذبذوي ٱلقرت �اورمهمتدوبم

wa dhaw¢ alqurb¡ alladh¢na amarta bimawaddatihim

the relatives whom You have ordered us to love,

مرت بعرفان �وٱلموالي ٱلذين اقهمح

the masters whom You have ordered us to recognize their right,

wa ahli albayti alladh¢na adhhabta ànhum alrrijsa wa §ahhartahum tath¢ran

and the People of the House from whom You have removed away filth and whom You have purified with thorough purifying,

In his book of Miqb¡s al-Ma¥¡b¢¦, Àll¡mah al-Majlis¢ says: Imam al-¯¡diq (à) is reported through valid chains of authority to have said: There are three hours at night and three others at day at which Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, glorifies Himself. The three hours of days begin when the sun in the east side is in the same rising in the afternoon on the other (west) side; that is at early forenoon. The three hours of night begin at the last third of night up to dawn. Any servant glorifies Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, at these hours with full heart presence, Almighty Allah will settle his needs, and if he is unhappy (because of sinning), I expect that he will be made happy.

It is most suitable to say the following words of glorification at these hours:

نت رب �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�اينالمٱلع

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta rabbu al`¡lam¢na

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the Lord of the Worlds.

نت ٱلرحمن �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�ايمحٱلر

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta alrra¦m¡nu alrra¦¢mu

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

نت ٱلعلي �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�اٱلكبير

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta alàliyyu alkab¢ru

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the All-High, the All-great.

نت ملك يوم �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�ا ٱلدين

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta maliku yawmi aldd¢ni

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the Master of the Judgment Day.

نت ٱلغفور �ت ٱلله ال إله إال ان�ايمحٱلر

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta alghaf£ru alrra¦¢mu

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the All-forgiving, the All-merciful.

نت ٱلعزيز �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�ايمكٱلح

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta alàz¢zu al¦ak¢mu

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the Almighty, the All-wise.

نت منك بدء �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�ا كل شيء

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta minka bad'u kulli shay'in

You are Allah; there is no god save You, from You is the beginning of all things

.wa ilayka ya`£du kullu shay'in and to You do all things return وإليك يعود كل شيء

نت لم �نت ٱلله ٱلذي ال إله إال ا�ا تزل وال تزال

anta all¡hu alladh¢ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta lam tazal wa l¡ taz¡lu

You are Allah; there is no god save You, You have been always existent and You will always be existent.

نت خالق �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�اٱلشرر وٱلخي

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta kh¡liqu alkhayri walshsharri

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the Creator of good and evil.


نت خالق �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�ا ٱلجنة وٱلنار

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta kh¡liqu aljannati walnn¡ri

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the Creator of Paradise and Hell.

حد �نت ٱال�نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�ادٱلصم

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta al-a¦adu al¥¥amadu

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the One and the eternally besought of all.

ي لمولدي لمو دل lam yalid wa lam y£lad He begets not nor was begotten

wa lam yakun lah£ kufwan a¦adun حد�ولم يكن له كفوا اand there is none comparable to Him.

نت ٱلملك �نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�اوسٱلقد

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta almaliku alqudd£su

You are Allah; there is no god save You, the King, the All-holy,

نيمهٱلم نمؤٱلم المٱلس alssal¡mu almu'minu almuhayminu the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, the Guardian over all,

alàz¢zu aljabb¡ru almutakabbiru ٱلجبار ٱلمتكبرٱلعزيز the Almighty, the Omnipotent, and the Grand.

شركونا يمع ٱلله انحبس sub¦¡na all¡h àmm¡ yushrik£na Glory be to Allah from what they set up with Him.

ٱلبارئ ٱلمصورنت ٱلله ٱلخالق �اanta all¡hu alkh¡liqu alb¡ri'u almu¥awwiru

You are Allah; the Creator, the Originator, and the Fashioner.

¡laka al-asm¡'u al¦usn سماء ٱلحسنى�لك ٱالYours are the most excellent names.

اتومي ٱلسا فم لك حبسيض�ٱالور

yusabbi¦u laka m¡ f¢ alssamaw¡ti wal-ar¤i

Whatever is in the heavens and the earth declares Your glory;

wa anta alàz¢zu al¦ak¢mu نت ٱلعزيز ٱلحكيم�واand You are the Almighty, the All-wise.

anta all¡hu l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta نت�نت ٱلله ال إله إال ا�اYou are Allah; there is no god save You,

ٱلكبير ٱلمتعالي وٱلكبرياء كاؤرد

alkab¢ru almuta`¡l¢ walkibriy¡'u rid¡'uka

the Great, the Most High. Grandeur is Your dress.
