Corporation and Dr. D Y Patil School of Engineering, Lohegaon, Pune on 18th and 19th July 2014
with support of CII India. For regional level selections, invitations along with brochures were sent to
various colleges across Maharashtra.

Subject: Invitation for Two Days State Level Electronics Competition in association with NSDC during 18th- 19th July 2014. Respected Sir/ Madam,
It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that the Department of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering, Dr. D Y Patil School of Engg, Lohegaon, Pune is organizing two days state level
competition of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in Electronics Category during 18th-19th July 2014.
This competition will be conducted on 02 modules of 50 Marks each. The competitors will be evaluated as per the guidelines given by NSDC and World Skills International norms.
After state level, NSDC will Conduct the National level competition by August 2014 and select 3 teams and 3 Experts provisionally for training in the skill of Electronics, till the departure of the candidate for the
competitions. One team shall be finally selected and shortlisted wide final selections before 3-4 months of the World
Skill International Competition which is scheduled during August, 2015, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
We request you to encourage students of your institute to participate in this workshop.
Every participant will be awarded with NSDC certificate and medals for participation.
Your co-operation for the grand success of this event will be highly appreciated.

The participating teams were given open access to laboratories where development boards,
programmers and all the facilities related to competition were provided all the time. One faculty was provided for technical guidance free of cost, prior to the start of the competition.
The competition started with inaugural function which included the formal tradition of National
Anthem, Saraswati Poojan then felicitation of the Chief Guest Prof. Vinayak Kulkarni and guest
of appearance from CII Pune Ms. Pooja followed by a introductory lecture on World Skill
International for the skill of Electronics by Dr. Vinayak Kulakarni. Finally there was a discussion
and interaction with the participants by Prof. Bahubali K Shiragapur, Co-ordinator and Prof
Vinayak Kulkarni on theme of regional selections and guidelines for World skill India
Competition.Jury members for the competition were Dr. Vinayak Kulkarni, Dr. M D Goudar and
Prof Bahubali K Shiragapur.

Modules and Marking Scheme
Module 1:- Hardware Design: - (50 Marks) (Time- 06 Hours)
Problem statement was provided to the students. 1. Paper Design of Circuit given (10 marks) Papers will be provided, they have to draw circuit, calculate values, write formulas etc
2. Simulation of design of the circuit according To the problem circuit(10 marks) They were allowed to use any software like Altium Designer, Multisim, and PS Spice etc.
3. Prepare Layout of PCB using software They can use software such as Altium Designer, Multisim, PS Spice and Eagle software, etc. Final output will be in pdf file (05 marks)
4. They have to fabricate the PCB by manual method (PCB Laboratory) for which Lab and Infrastructure to fabricate the PCB with the help of Photo paper and Laser printer will be provided. They will take the print the Layout of the circuit on the photo paper through laser

printer, and then Chemicals for the etching process will be provided. A drill machine will be provided to drill the PCB. (05 marks)
5. Competitors will assemble components and solder them correctly (10 marks)
6. They will test the assemble board for final testing, the results will be shown to Judges. (10 marks)
Module 2:- Embedded System programming Module: - (50 Marks) (Time- 04 Hours)
Problem statement was provided to the competitors. They made a program on the compiler of PIC Microcontroller (PIC18F4550), such as C-18 Compiler, Keil software, etc. and use ICD-3 Programmer to program.
1. Competitors had to design and prepare interface circuit on zero PCB board, on which necessary interface components like Sensors and switches, Sensors etc. have to mount. Components were provided to the participants. (10 Marks)
2. Competitors have to write program in as C-18 Compiler, Keil software, etc. correctly and then download it into controller (10 Marks)
3. Display output of Task using LCD screen(LCD Interface) (10 Marks)
4. Keyboard Interface (10 Marks)
