6. EXAGERRATION
A statement that represents something as better or worse than it really is.AND THEN IT BECOMES LYING, OBVIOUSLY WE DON’T LIKE TO HEAR TO PEOPLE WHO ARE LYING TO US..
![Page 14: Speak to be heard](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042717/55d06a4cbb61eb337e8b4753/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)

There are four really powerful cornerstones, foundations, that we can stand on if we want our speech to be powerful and to make change in the world:
H.A.I.L.
![Page 16: Speak to be heard](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042717/55d06a4cbb61eb337e8b4753/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
H.A.I.L.
HONESTY
AUTHENTICITY
INTEGRITY
LOVE

OUR VOICE IS A TOOL BOX WHICH VERY FEW PEOPLE HAVE OPENED
![Page 19: Speak to be heard](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042717/55d06a4cbb61eb337e8b4753/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
TOOLS--
2. TIMBRE
1. REGISTERS
the research shows that we prefer voices which are rich, smooth, warm, like hot chocolate
![Page 20: Speak to be heard](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042717/55d06a4cbb61eb337e8b4753/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
3. PROSODYThis is the sing-song, the meta-language that we use in order to impart meaning. It's root one for meaning in conversation . People who speak all on one note are really quite hard to listen to if they don't have any prosody at all.
4. PACE
I can get very excited by saying something really quickly, or I can slow right down to emphasize, and at the end of that, of course, is our old friend silence.
![Page 21: Speak to be heard](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042717/55d06a4cbb61eb337e8b4753/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
5. PITCH
6. VOLUME
Pitch is an integral part of the human voice. The pitch of the voice is defined as the "rate of vibration of the vocal folds" .
