Such events are very useful

to students in order to develop

their creative skills and profes-

sional logic which may ignite

minds of students to become

successful Civil Engineer. The

function was concluded with

vote of thanks. The lots of efforts

was taken by all CESA committee

members and other depart-

mental students to successful

accomplishment of this program.

The Departmental Students’

Association “CESA” organized a

state level tech fest entitled

“SPARX 2K17” on 28th Septem-

ber 2017. This event was presid-

ed by Principal Dr. K. J. Karande

and the chief guest was Mr.

Hemant Dhumal who is Super-

intendent Engineer, Water Re-

sources Department, Govt. of

Maharashtra. The Judge for this

tech fest was Prof. R. N. Shiral,

Head, of Civil Engineering De-

partment, BIT, Barshi.

The purpose of event is to

encourage and motivate the

students in order to set and

achieve the desired goals and

ambitions of the life. They would

get benefited to become a suc-

cessful Civil Engineer, that in-

creases their spirit of self-

reliance and professionalism.

The event was inaugurated

with auspicious hands of Mr.

Hemant Dhumal and Hon. Prin-

cipal Dr. K. J. Karande in Pres-

ence of Dr. C. P. Pise, Head, De-

partment of Civil Engineering, ,

Prof. A. P. Kshirsagar, Convener

of SPARX 2K17 and CESA, Facul-

ty Advisor Prof. S. V. Uppin. All

5th September is the birth

anniversary of Indias First Vice President

Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and in In-

dia We celebrate this day as Teachers

Day as a tribute to Dr. Sarvapalli Radha-

krishnan. His footsteps, the teachers fol-

low, are being proved on Teacher’s Day.

At Department of Civil Engineering, SKN

SCOE also we have celebrated 5th Sep-

tember 2017 as Teachers day. The chief

guest for this function was Hon. Principal

Dr. K. J. Karande.

The function was started with

Saraswati Pooja and felicitation of All the

teachers by the students. as he was a great

teacher.

Prof. C. P. Pise (HOD, Depart-

ment of Civil Engineering) has addressed

to the students regarding their Career in

Civil Engineering, also discussed the op-

portunities for them and role of students

in national growth and development. He

also appreciated the organizing committee

for their keen involvement in such a most

excellent programme under CESA. The

function was concluded with vote of

thanks by Mr. Vishal Chavan (T.E Civil).

Dr. C. P. Pise welcomed Mr. Sodal sir

and Mr. Sodal said that being an Civil

Engineering students everyone should

think about environment first while plan-

ning, designing and executing structures in

life.

As an effort towards to getting

the knowledge about reasons behind cli-

mate change and its effects on civil engi-

neering structures, the Department of

Civil Engineering had organized One

Expert lecture on a topic “Climate

Change and You—Impact of Climate

Change on Environment” at Department

of Civil Engineering on 7th September

2017, for this we got an eminent personal-

ity in this field Mr. S. V. Sodal who is

Member and Ex-Secretary, Maharashtra

India celebrates 15th Septem-

ber as Engineers Day as a tribute to Sir M.

Vishveshwaraya. At SKN SCOE also we

have celebrated Engineers day on 15th

September 2017. The chief guest for this

function was Mr. Hiralal Mendhegiri who

is Ex-Adviser to Government of Maha-

rashtra & Former Secretary (WRM &

CAD) Water Resources Department,

Government of Maharashtra.

On this occasion Mr.

Mendhegiri sir had a interactive session

with students, in which he discussed many

issues in front of civil engineering fraterni-

ty in the state. Also he gives emphasis on

problem solving abilities of engineering stu-

dents when they join engineering services,

and to enhance these skills he said that the

students must take their theoretical

knowledge to do some project based learn-

ing. The programme was concluded with

vote of thanks by Ms. Pournima Kotgiri.

The department of

Civil Engineering, had orga-

nized One Day interactive

Workshop on “Concrete Mix

Design”, on 02nd September

2017 for SE, TE, BE Civil

Engineering students to study

different aspects of Concrete

mixing as specified by differ-

ent agencies like BIS, ACI,

etc.

The workshop com-

menced with felicitation of

Mr. Sushant Inamdar of Dura-

con Consultants, Solapur, by

Dr. C. P. Pise, Head, Depart-

ment of Civil Engineering.

This workshop will

be beneficial to all participants

in their academics as well as in

professional life in future at

filed.

We are very much

thankful to Mr. Sushant Inam-

dar of Duracon Consultants,

Solapur, who provided all

information and guided stu-

dents and demonstrated all

the concepts of Concrete Mix

Design which will be benefi-

cial to our students in future

life.

The vote of thanks

was given by Workshop Coor-

dinator Prof. V.S. Sherekar.

Total 120 Students were par-

ticipated in this workshop

from SE, TE, BE Civil Engi-

neering class.

Link Road, Pandharpur, on

9th August 2017. This visit

was organized by department

TE Civil class.

to manage all these activities

The orientation Programme was organized by SKN SCOE for all Sec-

ond year students on 18th July 2017. Orientation Programme is an initiative to

groom the overall personality of students and make them acquainted with the

culture of the institution. The aim of the programme was to ensure that every

student feels welcomed, engaged and excited to begin with their new and im-

portant stage of education. The idea was to make the students aware of their

prospective opportunities and to show them the path they have adopted in

order to become successful engineers.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with the invocation Dr. C. P.

Pise formally welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais and students. After the

welcome address all dignitaries on the stage lit our traditional lamp to mark

the commencement of second year induction programme-2017. The chief

guest was honoured by the Principal Dr. K. J. Karande and threw light on the

importance of education and the responsibilities of the students. Our Principal

Dr. K. J. Karande has pointed out value of life and the responsibilities of stu-

dents to carry out during their studies in our college. He also guided and moti-

vated students for competitive examinations like MPSC, UPSC, ISE etc. Dr. C. P.

Pise briefed well about the procedures to be followed by the students in his

address. Prof. R.T. Vyavhare addressed the students for their carrier in the en-

gineering. Prof. Dr. Rajashri Badge briefed students about the Training and

placement procedure.

Finally, the programme was concluded by Miss. Gayatri More and Miss Sujita Bhinge with vote of thanks.

All second year students and staff members were present for this programme.
