Masculine and feminine nouns: In Spanish we have masculine and feminine nous. General rules: Most masculine nouns end in ‘o’. Ejemplo: un cuaderno. [ An exercise book] Most feminine nouns end in ‘a’. Ejemplo: una regla. [ A ruler] of the exceptions, you will learn them using this K.O.

Strategy → Use these five steps to learn any new word.
1. LOOK at the word carefully. Think about what it means and look how it’s spelled.
2. SAY the word out loud (If in class just say it in your mind) to practise pronunciation.
3. COVER the word – say it and “see” it in your mind. 4. WRITE the word from memory and try using it in a sentence. 5. CHECK your word against the original.
