ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: Cheating on a quiz/test will result in a “0” with no option for retake. Copied work will not be graded. Copying sources include (but are not limited to) friends’ assignments, the internet, and native speakers who help with more than a few words. Translators are to be used only as a dictionary (for example, if you want to know how to say “I wakeboard a lot in the summer” you can type “to wakeboard” in the translator, but the rest is up to you and your brain.) Students involved in copying will receive a “0” on the assignment. RULES - Las Reglas 1. Be respectful of others. Food & Beverages Small snacks and beverages with LIDS are acceptable as long as it does not disrupt your learning. Please clean up after yourself. Students are not to eat lunch in class except with teacher permission. Students may not leave class to pick up nor receive food deliveries during class. BATHROOM VISITS – “el baño” Occasional bathroom visits are acceptable, not daily(1/week). Visit the bathroom before class. Your partner needs you for class activities. Your cell phone stays in class when you visit the bathroom. 1) Ask for permission. 2) Get pass. 3) Leave your phone. 4) Write your name, departure and return times. ATTENDANCE POLICY If your absence is unexcused, your work cannot be made up for a grade. If your absence is excused, it is your responsibility to find out what you need to make up and to complete the required make-up within the allowable make-up period following your return to school: (1 day absence = 1 day make-up period, 2 day absence = 2 day make-up period, etc.). Major projects and major exams with due dates known well in advance are exempt from this make-up time allowance. TARDY POLICY Por favor, arrive on time. Arriving late disrupts the learning process.

1st offense: You will receive a verbal warning. 2nd offense: You will receive 10 minutes of cleaning duty. 3rd offense: You will recieve 20 minutes of cleaning duty. 4th offense or failure to complete cleaning duty: A referral will be made.

Phones are to be turned off or put on silent/airplane mode and placed in your backpack or in the cell phone pocket chart before class starts. Phones are NOT to be kept on desks. A charging station is available.

1st offense: I will ask you to place it in the pocket chart. Get it back after class. 2nd offense: I will ask you to place it in the pocket chart. Get it back after 6th period. 3rd offense: Phone will usually be given to administrator (Get it back after 6th period) AND referral if disruption (parent contact and/or holding device will occur).

Dear Parents and/or Guardians – The school year is fast underway and I look forward to getting to know your student and building positive rapport. I strive to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe in making mistakes as they build greater fluency in Spanish. Mistakes make memories! (mmm!) Learning a foreign language can be challenging, but with the proper guidance, perseverance and practice your student should do well. Participation is the key to success in class. Students that actively participate and stay involved in class activities tend to be the most successful. To encourage participation, students will start out each day with two points. To keep their points, they need to be an active participant in class. We have discussed what this means and how to keep all points. If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Adam Green (aka Señor Verde) [email protected] 465-7107 (2:35-3:00ish) website: senorverde.com Please return the lower portion to Señor Verde for 5 points! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Signing below agrees to follow classroom and school policy, including putting forth the effort necessary to be successful in this class.
