My warmest greetings to allmy relatives in the FamiliaMacavinta as we celebratethis joyous occasion—the 2nd

Familia Macavinta GrandReunion.

In 2010, when we firstenvisioned this reunion, our purpose was to bringtogether all the Macavintas. We knew then that therewere many Macavintas but we did not know how bigthe Macavinta Clan was. We were surprised to learnthat our family was THAT big when the family tree wasconstructed and when the first Familia MacavintaGrand Reunion was held on January 15, 2010.

Today, we are holding our second reunion. We aregathered in this celebration with our parents,grandparents, uncles, aunties, siblings, cousins, nieces,nephews, in-laws and all other relatives to recall ourfond memories and renew the ties that bind us together.We are fortunate that we have this opportunity tointroduce our children to their unique history andheritage. We are blessed that we have this special timeof reuniting, remembering, and rejoicing.

From our logo, the VINTA signifies reaching everyoneout fast. The HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL LINES mean allof us come from different directions just to be with eachother—from east or west, from north or south. The LONGand WINDING ROAD means our path to greatness orsuccess in any field of work is not easy, and requiresdetermination, hard work and hope. The RED colormanifests life and vitality while the YELLOW colorexpresses joy and happiness. To top them all, we makeourselves the best that we can be as our way ofglorifying our Lord.

It is our hope that with this 2nd Familia Macavinta GrandReunion, the family ties will be revitalized and the bondswill become stronger among all the members.

I, therefore, welcome you all to the 2nd FamiliaMacavinta Grand Reunion. May we have a successfuland productive celebration.

We want to treat one another as a family. Regardless of our distinctiveness,uniqueness, differences, imperfections and frailties, we still cannot deny that weare a family. Otherwise, we are an embarrassment to our identity in the community;we are a shame to the legacy which our forefathers had initiated. Thus, we losethe name we have. The main aim of our family reunion today will remain futile ifwe do not take seriously the value of each individual in the family. In other words,it defeats the purpose of having this event if we do not treat one another as partof one big family.

I love Family reunions, simply because it is one big way to restore, refresh andremember our humble beginning in the family. And as we remember our ownfamily, we express our gratitude to the countless blessings bestowed by God inour own family.

Family is so important. At our family reunions, we even have a few folks attendwho are not related. They are just friends. But they are welcome. It is the same inour church family reunions. A family is people, God’s people. Related by blood…HIS BLOOD.

All is done when we consider the utmost importance of prayer in our family.Prayer, according to Mother Theresa, is the tranquility of the heart. And accordingto Fr. Peyton in his advocacy for the Holy Rosary Crusade, “a family who praystogether stays together.”

Our Beloved Patron, St. Joseph The Worker, as foster father of our Lord JesusChrist, never failed to protect the family entrusted to him by our Father in heaven.We believe that when we closely associate ourselves to God, we will be shieldedand protected by St. Joseph through his fatherly guidance and intercessions. Thus,the Macavinta Clan, as one big family of God our Father, may be blessed andstrengthened as you grow together in the loving embrace of one another.
