Springdale, ARThe Southwest Elite 7on7 National Select
Qualifying Tournament (QT) brings thirty-two High School
Football teams to Springdale, AR July 11-13, for motivation and
competition. Teams from around the country are traveling to theShiloh Christian Campus to participate in this top-notch event, with
the hopes of qualifying for the National Select 7on7
Championships in Hoover, AL. This year the participating schools
will not only get a chance to put their hard-work to the test on the
field, they will also get a chance to hear Tim Tebow speak during
the events iNFLUENCERS Rally Friday night.
Weve been able to partner with WalMart on this event and that has taken our event to another level, Josh
Floyd, Head Football Coach at Shiloh Christian High School and Tournament Chairman, says. The
competition level here between the 32 teams is the best it has ever been. This is one of the main reasons it
continues to be a success, because we have been able to bring in some of the top teams in the country to
Northwest Arkansas.
The QT kicks-off Thursday, July 11th
, with a media event and launch party. Friday, competition will be in
full-swing as teams compete in pool play to determine seeding for Saturdays tournament. Each game will run
21 minutes long, with two State High School Football Officials on the field at all times. The winner of the QT
will be announced Saturday after the championship game and will automatically qualify to represent this
tournament in the National Championships.
We participate in this event because it allows our student-athletes to have a total experience. Theopportunities off the field are things that these kids will remember forever. As far as on the field, we get to go
against some of the top programs in America, so it's a great opportunity to compete at a high level, Floyd
says.
The Southwest Elite 7on7 is one of thirteen National Select 7on7 Qualifying Tournaments to be held
throughout the country this summer. Winners from each QT qualify to play in the National Select 7on7
Championships presented by Under Armour, July 24-27 at Buccaneer Stadium in Hoover, AL. The
Championship event allows teams to compete at the highest level, against elite programs that they normallywould not have the ability to play during a regular season. The National Select 7on7 Championships is the
premiere team 7on7 in the country, and has grown exponentially in its 11 years.
We have partnered with the National Select 7on7, because that is where we first got the idea. We played in
the National 7on7 in 2006, and then began to have ideas to bring that type of event to Northwest Arkansas.Floyd Says
