Southern Maryland Intergroup Association, Inc. Tri-County Area: Calvert, Charles & St. Mary’s Counties
RESPONSIBILITY DECLARATION
I am responsible when anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help,
I want the hand of A.A. always to be there; And for that I am responsible.
“For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority-A loving God as
He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted
servants; they do not govern.”
Came to believe that a Power
greater than ourselves could
restore us to sanity. 2018
A normal drinker finds a fly in his beer
and asks the bartender to pour him a fresh
drink
A heavy drinker finds a fly in his beer,
pulls it out by the wings, and continues
drinking
An alcoholic finds a fly in his beer and
yells, “Spit it out! Spit it out!”

Treasurer’s Report February 2018
For the first time this fiscal year, the SMIA is operating with a surplus! There was a $1530
turn around from the previous month, leaving a $977 net income for FY ‘2017. We can attribute this to the generous donations of our member groups. Over the past two months,
our groups and one anonymous donor have donated $3041.56. So far this fiscal year, we have received $9736.46 in donations. If our operating budget exceeds the Prudent Reserve,
we will propose a donation to Maryland General Service and AA World Service. Many thanks to the groups of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties, as well as the anonymous donors!
