What is Nature Tourism?

• Nature tourism is defined as “responsible” travel to natural areas, which conserves the environment and improves the welfare of local people.”

• Minimizing negative environmental impacts (e.g., preserving resources) and even maximizing positive environmental impacts (e.g., education about resources) is evident through nature tourism, which takes the form of birdwatching, photography, stargazing, camping, hiking, and visiting parks.

• In addition to the protection of vital natural resources, nature tourism also has a profound economic impact on local communities.
