“Six months before purchasing this house we had actually bought another property on The Gallop,” says Sally, “but when number 37 came onto the market we decided we liked it a lot more, so we sold up and moved a few doors down the road!” “We purchased with a view to modernising,” says Anthony. “Parts of the property were quite dated and a little tired and I would say that we’ve ended up doing practically everything to it, and to a very high standard.” “We updated the plumbing and electrics,” says Sally, “knocked down some walls to make it more open plan and replaced the cover on the pool; we’ve gone through with a fine tooth comb and now believe everything is in tip-top condition and absolutely gorgeous.”

“Our favourite part of the house is probably the open-plan kitchen dining and living space,” continues Sally, “as it is where we tend to spend the most time. There was a dividing wall that we took down to open it up, and it’s now a lovely big, sociable space that has worked incredibly well for us as a family. It also has two huge sets of patio doors which all year round make the garden feel very much part of the house.” “The whole of the downstairs is open plan except for the main living room,” says Anthony, “which is another beautiful space. We had a wood burner installed, so during the winter in particular it is a lovely cosy room to relax in; it’s a nice contrast to the open feeling of the rest of the house.”
