Our school performances are always an excellent example of the outstanding Creative Arts Program we provide. Good luck to our Year 1 Dance, Year 2 Dance, Stage 2 Dance and Stage 3 Dance groups and their teachers Mrs Gillett, Mrs Thompson, Mrs McIntyre, Miss Carter and Miss Amanda. The responsible Pet Program for K-2 has been postponed to Friday 30th June due to the ill health of the presenter. Earlier this week we had a number of other cancellations due to poor weather. We will always notify our community on our school Facebook page as soon as we are aware of any changes which may affect our organisation. Miss McLennan will be on leave for the rest of this term. Mr Bell will continue on her class and Mrs Dodd will continue as relieving Stage 2 Assistant Principal. If you have any concerns please contact Mrs Dodd or myself.

Good luck to our Netball team who are playing Woolgoola PS next Monday in the next round of the PSSA knockout weather permitting. Good luck to our girls cricket team who are playing Narranga PS next Tuesday in the second round of the PSSA Knockouts. Today, if you wish to contribute to our new school homework policy, I have attached the Parent Survey for you to complete and return to school by Thursday 22nd June. We have surveyed our staff and students already. We have distributed one copy per family to the eldest child. Please adjust the survey if you need to include more than one child. Our school recently submitted an Expression of Interest to be in partnership with a STEM action school to continue to develop the high quality IT program we are currently offering our students. Yesterday I was informed that our application was successful and we will be building a partnership with Alstonville Public School as a mentee school. This will include staff professional learning and excellent opportunities to pursue and lead STEM/ robotics/ coding etc in our school. Great things happening at SGPS!!!... Just a general reminder to please ensure your children's school uniforms are clearly labelled with their name. We are finding a large number of jumpers not labelled or the label has worn off, so it is difficult to find the correct owner. We appreciate your help with this and also ensuring your children are wearing the correct school uniform. Peter Hickey Principal

A reminder that Rewards Day for Kindergarten and Stage 1 is on Thursday 29th June 2017. This term we are going to Grafton Ten Pin Bowling. We would appreciate everyone returning their permission note and money to their classroom teacher by Monday 26th June 2017. The cost for the day is $10.00 and students are able to wear mufti clothes on the day.

What a wonderful day we had for Grandparents’ Day last Thursday. Thank you to all our wonderful senior family members who supported their families and our school. The attendance on both campuses was outstanding and I have been reliably informed it was our biggest ever. Well done SGPS community! A number of the photos are available to view on our Facebook page.
