Dr. Johnson uses effective teaching strategies in order to motivate students to learn. She demonstrates impressive knowledge of curriculum content and subject matter. She encourages students to apply themselves and to enjoy the challenges of attaining goals and preparing for ISAT. Dr. Johnson takes considerable time in making sure all students understand and is very competent at identifying struggling students and adjusting her approach for them. She takes extreme care to insure that the students understand the objectives of the lesson. She responds with understanding to the efforts of the students and the need to repeat, reinforce, or restructure the lesson. Dr. Johnson does an exceptional job of determining the necessary and appropriate elements to be taught for the age and maturity level of the class. She establishes a uniquely caring and supportive atmosphere for student learning. She demonstrates a superb understanding of the relationship between active student participation and the learning process. She makes a special effort to insure that assigned lessons are meaningful and not just time consuming. Dr. Johnson is committed to providing learning experiences of high quality, as evidenced by the planning of the ISAT prep classes in math and reading. Her enthusiasm for teaching encourages and motivates her students to achieve.
