“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.” ―
Marcus Tullius Cicero
Reading is one of life's greatest pleasures that opens the door to culture,
knowledge and independence.
Reading not only gives us pleasure, it also enriches our mind. Through books
we come to have a keener insight into life and its problems .
Reading broadens our outlook, helps us in absorbing new ideas , drives away
our narrow prejudices and lightens up our mind with truth and knowledge.
Books help us to imagine a life beyond our own and embrace a more accepting,
curious worldview . Reading is a good springboard for open conversation. Sto-
ries can be great conversation-starters. Books are our best friends. They never
deceive or desert us in our hour of need.
“There is no friend as loyal as a book”― Ernest Hemingway
My dear students when you read books that interest you, it works like the air
that ignites the fire in your passion. It keeps the love burning and moving for-
ward to something beneficial. It keeps you from stagnation or complacency.
The libraries are a treasure trove only waiting for all of you to discover and
explore... So need I say more? Start to develop or rekindle your reading habit.
“Have you really read all those books in your room?”
Alaska laughing- “Oh God no. I‟ve maybe read a third of „em. But I‟m
going to read them all. I call it my Life‟s Library. Every summer since I
was little, I‟ve gone to garage sales and bought all the books that looked
interesting. So I always have something to read.”
― John Green, Looking for Alaska
Happy Reading !!!
With Love,
Sahana Bhattacharya
