Dressing foryour Shape:
During the summer it is important that what we wear is comfortable. Wewant clothes that allow ventilation yet need to be practical for a range ofoccasions including work, shopping and meeting with friends / family.
Summer dresses are a great wardrobe staple for the warmer monthsas they can be worn on numerous occasions as you can eitherdressing them up or down with a range of accessories. However, it can be difficult knowing what style is best foryou, but rest assured, you will be able to find one to suityour shape. If you have a bigger bust, look for dresses that have highernecklines, this will prevent over exposure and make youfeel more secure. Thicker straps will also give you addedsupport and in turn be more comfortable. Thicker strapsalso help disguise the bra straps that can sometimes beunflattering if exposed. If you’re worried a higher neckline will make you lookfrumpy or less feminine, make sure this style iscombined with a structured waistline; this will nip you in
at the waist and highlight your feminine figure. If you are worried about dresses that are too tight around yourthighs, try a looser fitted dress. A fuller flowing skirt will allowthe fabric to skim over your legs and move as you wear it,ensuring nothing is clinging to anything you don’t want it to!Look out for dresses that have seams under the bust, asthese tend to focus all structure around the bust, allowingthe rest of the dress to be loose over the body. If you’re petite, there are many brands that have specificpetite collections that you can choose from, however, if
none of these will suffice, when browsing, keep a look out forlittle details. Dresses that have adjustable straps are ideal, asthese can be altered to fit you, and will prevent the strapsfalling off your shoulder whilst your wear it. Dresses that havedetailing around the waist will help highlight your silhouette, making your figure stand out rather than get lost. Ideally youwant to be wearing dresses that are above the knee, asdresses that sit just below the knee if you are petite are not idealas tend to swamp the wearer.Once you’ve identified what style is best suited for your shape, you should think about how to style your summer dress withaccessories and footwear. If the dress is patterned, make sure

to focus your accessories on your wrist, go forstatement bracelets that help round off the outfit, avoiding making the outfit look too busy bywearing big necklaces. Heels or flats are bothgreat with summer dresses, but wedges aregreat choice for day to night footwear as they
tend to be the most comfortable and look smartwithout appearing overdressed. Finally, add acardigan or blazer to your dress to keep theevening chill at bay. Nothing too bulky that wouldcontradict the summer dress, something simpleand sleek would be a great accompaniment.

With summer on its way,now is the perfect timeto experiment with asplash of yellow inyour wardrobe. Butchoosing to wearyellow hasapproached with adegree of caution, for example wearingblocks of black and
yellow will give theillusion of a human bumblebee rather than the desiredstylish man about town look.
Yellow is a greatsummer colour -even for men.Wearing a touch of yellow is said to lift spirits and
makes you feel happy - and who doesn’t want tofeel happy? Especially in these austere times…
Blue Harbour polo shirtPrice: £12Stockist: Marks and Spencer
“While the current favourite look of a crispwhite shirt with a dark suit looks smart, itdoes not help make the man wearing it feelhappy,” explains Karen Haller, one of theUK’s leading authorities in applied colourpsychology. “When we see the sun ourspirits soar so wearing a touch of yellow isa great way to inject some optimism.”
If you’re looking for a great look for the officethen consider a shirt with a combination ofyellow and blue stripes. Combining thesetwo colours will not only make you look andfeel happier but blue can make you appearas a good communicator, intellectual, logicaland trustworthy.
So if you fancy being brave and embracingyellow this summer remember that the truekey to this trend is to make sure everythingelse you wear is a shade a little less obvious.
