Approaches for P1 &P2 in four Components
Embarked on Peri Holistic Assessment . Bite – size assessment throughout the year.
Spelling days – every Tuesday. Spelling list has
been given.
Tamil only: TL pupil will only complete learning the Tamil alphabets at the end of P2. Therefore they will not be able to read Tamil story books. Parents are encouraged to read to your children daily. Chinese only: For P1 CL spelling will only commence in term two. Spelling list will be given and parents will be informed. Using new modular Language curriculum structure to cater to the
unique needs and abilities of your child during MTL lesson.
Tips For Parents
Creating a Conducive Learning Environment
Show interest in your child’s MTL learning experiences and encourage him or her to share them with you
Encourage your child to learn through meaningful language games
Read newspapers and books together, starting with books with
attractive illustrations Bring your child to the library or bookshops to cultivate a reading habit Watch quality television programmes together Make use of objects in your environment such as road signs and advertisements to engage your child in conversations
Build up your child’s confidence by not correcting his or her
mistakes excessively
