Dear reader, Soundtrack is a magazine for all those people lovers of music. Here we love to enhance some talents and also teach you all about the most famous musicians as well as recommend you some of the latest new bands that just got out ready to be heard.

As well, in this magazine you can find some typical information about your favourite artists; like whole names, natal place, age, another aspirations if they weren't musicians, the band they belong to, if they had belonged to another band before, or either what did they use to do before joining the band you like the most.

Anyway, each section of Soundtrack is special, it is made from all the team member’s souls and also good taste in music, oh, and we can't forget the feeling, as well as writing and press experience and talent. We have five different sections in our magazine, which are the following…

POEMIn this edition of Soundtrack we wanted to talk about music as a beautiful escape from reality. Maybe this poem could be useful for you when you're down sometime. We know this is a music magazine, but we can't deny poetry and literature; it's just simply our feelings, something we can't live without. And, well, we do know for sure “music speaks to you in a way nothing else can”

Introduction

Mexico City last April 15th, 16th and 17th dates… Can't tell more, just read the article and in case you didn't assist to any of those beautiful concerts of them, well, you'll know just what you missed and will reject. Sorry not sorry.

ESSAY It’s obvious, we kinda hate essays, but we couldn't let go this opportunity. The essay from this edition, and we might say, not every Soundtrack Issue has an essay on it. Actually we can't surely say when was the last time we write one. But it is amazing. The topic is about music festivals. Why? ‘Cause we love ‘em. And we also assisted to the Marvin Featival, which took place at Mexico City as well.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY We know we have a very special and handsome writer, philosopher and journalist… Ricardo Navarro. We receive emails every month hoping to read something from humorous even get a picture of him. Well, I think the wait is over, not because of the picture, but reading something about him. Our adored mate wrote his autobiography with some music feats included. Enjoy!

It is incredible what a band from London starting on their early 20’s can do with our souls. As Coldplay started with “Parachutes”their sound was pretty indie rock. Of course as years pass through they have changed a little bit their sound in order to grow as people and as a band. April 15th, 16th& 17th at Foro Sol, all of them sold out… These three nights that are coming are going to be spectacular. Coldplay has all these good vibes ready to see their fans after six years absent, stage is getting ready with colour spectrumspreading around it.

It's April 16th, 2016. Ximena Sariñana opens the concert, after her here it comes Lianne La Havas, people is getting really exited, everyone was waiting until Ximena finished, all people just wanna see Coldplay, no body else, all the public

just shouting “Coldplay” really anxious. Finally his number has finished and stage is getting prepared for Coldplay to come in.

After almost half an hour waiting, the famous xylobands turn on red, it is time for Coldplay to show themselves on that stage; classic music is playing but... As Coldplay played their second songYellow it was incredible, the sound of everyone singing along, of all those voices united gave me chills. Some of their most known songs were being sung, such asThe Scientist, Paradise, Clocks, Fix You, Viva La Vida, Adventure Of A Lifetime, A Sky Full Of Stars, etc… The band made a very special moment for their fans, they had asked their fans to send videos of themselves asking for a song in order for the band to play it at the concert. Anxious fans were also crying, Coldplay members were so near from them.

Coldplay closed the concert with the song Up&Up, people singing along peacefully and everyone with good vibes. Pyro lights the Mexican sky for the last time tonight, fans are getting ready to give a last goodbye or better yet… See you soon Coldplay, thank you for an excellent night.

For years there were only concerts or small music festivals where only a few artists, famous or not too famous used to participate.

Nowadays things have changed, some band´s sound have changed through years. There are more new artists to listen to and a good way to know them is a music festival. Also now there are many music festivals to assist; for the people who love music and really enjoy listening to some of their favourite artists and knowing new more in those events it is kind of more difficult choosing the festival you want to assist

Music festivals in the 1970´s were some such as The Bath Festival of Blues, Progressive Festival and the Atlanta International Pop Festival. The new decade festivals have changed, they are more energetic, colourful, legen...wait for it...dary. Here are some examples and descriptions of the new decade festivals:

ESSAY

“Tomorrowland” ´cause it is supposedly only people who want to change the world assist.

In this festival is ranked that 1,000,000 of young people assist to it, that’s a lot of people, but they really wanna change the world?

Pray to music:

It’s a festival of young DJ´S assist, if you want to assist as a dj you must compete with others dj´s and who win would assist to it, this is for more little teenagers. Not alchol.

VANS WARPED TOUR

This festival includes lots of fun and adrenaline. At Vans Warped there is music and also extreme sports. It is celebrated annually in the U.S and Canada. As in the Corona Music Fest, Vans has also different stages for bands to play at. There are around ten stages for a hundred or so bands and it varies from 10,000 to 30,000 viewers at the festival. The most common genders play by those bands at the Vans are punk, rock, alternative, punk rock and alternative-rock hardcore.

MARVIN FESTIVAL

You know what´s better than a music festival at the U.S.? A festival you can enjoy at your country… Like Marvin Festival. This music festival takes place every year at Mexico City in Colonia Roma and Condesa. A weekend you are really gonna enjoy, 13 continous hours of good music in as well ten different stages. You can be transported through the festival in vans, by bike or walking. Mexican bands and also international ones are presented.

CEREMONIA

Another festival that also took place at our country. Ceremonia was part of Toluca for an entire weekend. Since its first edition in 2013, it succeed; had its second on 2015 and its third on 2016.

Aw were walking around the festival making some interviews, where we also found our Telehit friends, we asked a few questions to some people. Some of they said they couldn't decide which one to assist. As you know, Vive Latino festival was being held simultaneously to Ceremonia. Difficult decision, huh?

Everybody likes music, but not everyone likes the same kind of music, we are all different. But in case you like punk, rock or either alternative bands or artists you could try assisting to any of these music festivals. Fun is for sure in those places, you only have to go with all your good vibes and your best attitude to enjoy even more the day(s).

If music festivals have changed? Well, yes! With all the technology thing, we know it obviously has evolved and it's clearly a very useful and extraordinary tool for our favourite DJs. As everything, music festivals also have to evolve. I think it isn't that bad to now experience or creates different style and change it a little bit since thirty or forty years ago.

RICARDO NAVARRO

My name is Ricardo Navarro Flores, I was born in October 22 in 1999 at Puebla, my dad’s name is Ricardo Navarro and my mothers name is Liliana Flores.

When I was 2 years old, I started talking, actually I started singing a Barneys song xD, at the same age I start walking, I walk everywhere and I always fall down. Also I start going to kinder garden. At age of 3 there was that little kind “poncho😑” that kid make me the life impossible for some years, until I kick him with a little metal table. Since that day he left me in peace

Now a days i'm 16 years old, since I was 5 years old I have been study in the same school: IMM, I like very much this school, at second grade of junior high school I went to my first music concert, I was of “bring me the horizon”, that's when I start a like much more the music.

My favourite artist, or the most I listen are: Edd sheeran, Coldplay, passenger, Kygo, avicci, Deorro and oasis. I like too much music, it makes me feel free, when ever I'm sad, or I wanna sleep I just listen music. To escape from reality, feel that no one can control me.

In my life I had learned many things, I had lived many experiences and problems, and with all that knowledge I would prevent problems in the future, to not having the same bad experiences. In a future, I would be a better person, with better habits and better attitude.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

“A RIDE TO OHIO”

The clock is ticking, 6:00 am,that means it's time to get ready for what it could be “a good day that could probably change for good the rest of my life in a new city” or “the beginning of something awful” yeah, just like that. My name is Henley and I just kinda moved from Chicago to Ohio, which means I had to leave all of my friends in order to start a new life here, thanks dad. I just have this gut feeling that I'm going to be an outcast, a total reject; but well, I'm on my way to figure that out in more or less a couple of hours.

-Okay, it's time, everything will be fine.– I think mom is very positive.

-Yeah, I'm gonna make it. – I hope that's not just a thought but a total lie.

As I walk through the hallway I see lots of boys and girls walking and wandering around, they seem nice, some of them just give me a smile, I smile back. I really hope I can make some new friends here.

There's a girl in my literature class that is pretty nice, her name is Becca, well I mean Rebecca, but everyone calls her “Becca”. Anyway, the other day she invited me to take lunch with her, I accepted, we talked about many things, but I must admit the most I liked were about the most handsome guys in school, clothes and accessories and music. She knows some good bands, I like that about her. Suddenly she started to talk about one in particular I have never heard, it is something about a “pilot” or “several pilots” hahaha I don't really remember. I guess I’ll ask her.

Day by day I must say I got used to sit with Becca, I had the opportunity to ask her about that band, which is really a duo and also that are from Ohio. I got confused, the band is called “Twenty Øne Pilots”, I still haven't listened to them but I hope I will.

SHORT STORY

I wasn´t that happy yet, but at least I had someone to talk to… Becky and Danny. Becky introduced Danny to me. He is a very smart guy, sometimes he helps me with some math problems I am not to good at. I thought it could be impossible to make some friends here, but maybe it just takes some time, not too much, to adapt to an environment and get along with some people. I like hanging outwith them, besides Danny cannot always go out. He takes school very seriously. Sometimes I tell him he should enjoy life a bit more and have more fun, but I still think he is a a good guy.

One day I was at Becca’s having a good time, when suddenly such a good looking guy came into her room…

-Becky, do you have the car keys? Oh, sorry, I should've knocked. New friend huh?

-Here they are – Becca threw the keys to that guy – Now, go away Luke, we have some girls stuff here.

-Easy Becky, simmer down. – After telling that to Becca, he turned to me – So what's your name, Becca's friend? –Goddamn hell

-H-Hen-Henley – That little stutter in the air felt like my soul froze.

-Nice name, hey, do you girls wanna come hang out with me and some friends of mine? I swear it won't take long. – Obviously I loved the idea.

-No thanks Luke, we have some plans here. – Oh god! Say yes please, don't ruin it

-We're going to the mall.

-Well, in that case, then we're going. – Thanks Becky!

I'm having so much fun! This guys are awesome. I met Brad and Zedd, some Luke´s friends. I enjoyed spending some time with them and also learned some things from them too, Brad is so sweet and even more handsome than Luke. I like Zedd, but just as a friend, he says he wants to become a DJ someday, but one of the bests.

Later that day, well it was actually night already, I got home a bit late, my parents were mad, that said they didn't like those relationships. I locked in my room and played some music, I can´t believe they don´t even know me well, they don´t know I´m very sensible. As I was thinking a lot about what they said, I remembered that

band TØP and I listened to it. Actually they were pretty cool and really good. I really liked their sound in their songs.

The next day I arrived very excited. I wanted to tell Becca about TØP, I think they could be one of my favourite bands. Becca told me that her favourite band was All Time Low, but I wasn´t that glad about that, she told me that one more of her favourite bands was 5 Seconds Of Summer, just like me. Anyway, I told her hey, let´s go dinner. She refused, she said she had another things to do.

I decided to call Brad, I really wanted to hang out with someone. I called him and he accepted. We decided to go have dinner at Mell´s, a local restaurant at Ohio´s downtown.

I only got dressed in a pair of jeans, a grey t-shirt and a wine hoodie. I thought it was only a dinner with a friend. Brad picked me up at home, he loocked so handsome. He was wearing jeans, black t-shirt and a black leather jacket. Oh my god!

We were already having dinner, while we were talking about several things. He told me he was the bassist of a band along with another friends of himand that sometimes Zedd use to help them mixing some tapes and demos.

Weekend passed over. On Monday, when I finally saw Becca again, she asked me about what happened between Brad and me. It seems Brad told Luke and Luke told something to Becca, but I don´t know what. It wasn´t the biggest things in the world; I mean I just went out with a new friend. Anyway Becca told me Luke told her that Brad told him (hahaha I know it´s a kind of confusing story) he was a bit excited because of me calling him. -What if he thought it was a date?- I mean, he is handsome and kinda like him, but I think he doesn´t like me. Becca thinks it is the opposite thing and that I could try hanging out with him again to know more about that “mystery” like she calls it.

For my surprise, that afternoon he called me and said…

-Hey, hi Henley, how you doing?

-Hi “B boy”- that´s what I call him- Well, I kinda have some problems answering my ,math homework.

-I can help you, well, if you want, obviously.

-Hhaha, so you are good at maths as well?

-Mmm yeah, a little bit.

-A little bit?.

-I don´t like to admit it, okay?

-You don´t have to shamed, Brad.

-It is just, umm, I think it is weird that a guy who is in a band and plays the bass is also good at maths.

-Yeah, I understand, nut I think you just gotta be yourself.

After other days I began to hang out even more with Brad. That boy is really sweet and really knows about music. I like his ideas. I think everyone has already noticed that I like Brad, but still I wasn´t sure if he liked me back. That was really confusing.

One day I went to the restroom in the middle of a class and I met myself with a girl that I had already seen, but never talked to her. She started the conversation with a “Hi Henley”. I waved and then said “Hi, do I know you?”. Then she stared at me for three seconds or so, and said “no, yeah I know it is weird but I´d just liked to tell you congratulations”. Inside os me there was a laughter and lots of confusion. While I was smiling I said “What?” and she replied “yeah, you know, about Brad”. I kind of understand, but not too much; I mean congratulations about what? Because we went out, because now we kinda hang out a lot, because I like him, because he likes me too –well, that´s actually something I don´t know- maybe I give some ideas to myself sometimes, but anyway I´m not sure about his feelings.

Some days later Becca told me she will move to Canada, I was sad. The girl who now was becoming my best friend is gonna be far from me. She was now part of my life. I thought she was one of the most especial people in my life, I mean she understands me more than anyone does... And soon she will be gone.

The next morning I looked for Luke, I wanted to tell him he is a really good friend and told him what was happening, he told me an idea that sounds crazy at first, but then I thought about it, and it wasn’t a bad idea at all, I´m organizing a party and I´m also going to Canada for maybe a week when they move.

I investigated about Vans Warped Tour dates, I thought it was a pretty cool idea to go when we all go to Canada. Also I was preparing things for the party, I had a gut feeling, it is going to be amazing. Can you imagine it? All our friends are gonna be there , maybe some music. I thought I could also try to convince Brad and Zedd to play at the party. I really want that party to be a great kind of goodbye for Becky.

I asked for some help to the guys, everyone; Luke, Danny, Brad, Zedd and... Well, Becky and me, obviously.

When the day of the party arrived, everyone was really, really excited, everyone was talking about it, it was 4.00pm in the afternoon, and we were preparing the alcohol, and some snacks for all day. Finally the party arrived, I was really excited, my first party without my parents! And the most special thing... It was for Becky and Luke.

Brad arrived, he looked really cool, I like him a lot. After his band played some jams along with Zedd he said he wanted to talk to me. We went to the backyard and started talking. He said he liked me a lot too and that the perfect situation was at that specific and especial moment. He asked me to be his girlfriend. I accepted to be Brad´s girlfriend after everything that had happened, he is a really cute boy. I really like him. Then I discovered he liked me too hahaha.

A month later, we were already traveling to Canada. I was so excited, I never did this kind of things with a group of friends. At the plane I was siting next to Brad and Luke, more like between them.

-Are you guys enjoying the trip?- asked Luke

-We have just got in the plane, Luke- I said, laughing because of his question

-What are you gonna do during the whole trip?- asked Luke again

-We don't really know, Luke. We just wanna enjoy it and have a good time together.- Replied Brad. I really wanted to be with him in that trip, but also with Becky.

We get to the hotel, being here was awesome. But deep inside I don't want to leave Canada without Becky, thinking about that really made me sad.

We visited different places around in town. Sometimes I was next to Brad and some other times with Becky. I was really having fun with all of them, Luke sometimes used to make fun of me of certain things and do jokes. He has always been so funny and has this pretty cool humour I like a lot about him.

When the day of the Vans Warped arrived, we all were very anxious. Becky and I didn't know what to wear haha. I know it was kinda ridiculous but we wanted to look good.

We got to the festival and drank some beers, dance along with some band’s music and doing some stupid stuff. I think that's typical in a united group of friends.

We were still dancing when someone said the next group was arriving at that stage, it was a band which wasn't planned to play at the festival. Nobody knew who they were... Until they appeared. That was the most anxious moment in my life; we were laughing at a Luke and Brad’s funny dance. Then lights turned on and a voice I had already heard in a music video spoke to the audience.

-Hey everyone! We're Twenty Øne Piløts. We weren't planned to play here, but here we are, so enjoy.

-Oh my gooood!- screamed

-Dude, I can't believe this is happening! Oh my god!- exclaimed Becky. I think she was as excited as me.

-Is this real?- I asked her, also screaming. I couldn't contain the feeling.

-I don't know, punch me!

-Well, okay

-No! Wait, wait! I didn't mean it

-Oh, well, sorry

-This is unbelievable

-Same, Becky

My best friend an I, enjoying one of our favourite bands. Singing along with them some of their song really felt amazing. I didn't know we'll all of their songs, but the ones I hadn't listened to I liked them a lot.

The first time I listened to them, I liked a song in particular… Ride. The rhythm of that song always made me move my head a little bit and sing along. When they started playing it I got even more excited. In that specific moment Brad hugged me and we kissed, that was magical. Then, everyone was hugging and we did a group hug. It was the perfect song for the perfect moment of our lives. Our friendship would never end because we were more united than ever.

This was a ride, a ride to Canada in that moment. But because of the start of that new beginning which changed my life… It was a ride to Ohio.

I guess the best things are destined to come at the right moment, when maybe everything isn't that good, where things are a little bit of a mess in your life,

but maybe you need a little mess from time to time. I learned one thing… I really love TØP and now is my favourite band after Coldplay and 5 Seconds Of Summer.

In conclusion, we learned how to write and make a magazine, we increased our creativity and imagination by writing like profesional magazine writers. We learned about making a short story, writing correctly, with dialogues;

We learned about poems, and applied what we learned about the correct way of writing a poem, how many verses, paragraphs, and the correct words. We learned how to make a table of contents, because we forgot how to do it.

We had some difficulties delivering i ton time. We thought we could have enough time, but then we didn´t know what else to write. This Project was just a bit

CONCLUSION

stressful but also funny and enjoyable because sometimes we had lack of creativity and ideas; but also sometimes we were very inspired. It was great knowing we did well on some things but we also had to learn from our mistakes to make it better every other time for revision.
