CLASS TIME SUBJECT CONTENT IMPACT DAY 1 Focus: 1.0 Listening and Speaking Theme: World of Knowledge Unit:Sounds Around Us Content Standard: 1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation. Learning Standard: 1.1.1 Able to listen and respond to stimulus given with guidance:- a) environmental & instrumental sounds b) voice sounds 1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: 1. Listen to and identify at least 6 sounds learnt. 2. Name the pictures and make the sound of the pictures Activities: 1. Pupils listen to the audio clip played by teacher.(environmental & instrumental sound) 2. Pupils name of objects /animals correctly by picking the correct picture/flash card for each sound (flash cards pasted on board by teacher) 3. Pupils play hide and seek game. Pupils close their eyes and guess the sound created by their friends (teacher will ask pupils to make sounds of laughing, clapping, crying, in pain,etc) 4. Pupils answer teacher’s “Wh” questions:- a) What animal/ object is this? Focus: 2.0 ReadingTheme: World of KnowledgeUnit: Sounds Around UsContent Standard: 2.1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to apply knowledge of sounds of letters to recognise words in linear and non-linear texts.

Learning Standard: 2.1.2 Able to identify and distinguish the shapes of the letters in the alphabet. 2.1.3 Able to recognise and articulate initial, medial and the final sounds in single syllable words within given context.

Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:a) Identify the shapes of the letterb) Read the phonemes of the letter correctly.

Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:1. Copy and write words2. Spell the words correctly.

Activities:1. Each pupils are given bingo cards with phonemes.2. Pupils cross out phonemes of the sound (letter sound) made by teacher.3. Pupils with first three correct strikes wins the game.4. Pupils complete the words by filling in the missing letters and rewrite the words (worksheet).

Learning Standard:1.1.1 Able to enjoy nursery rhymes, jazz chants and action songs through non-verbal response.1.1.2 Able to recite nursery rhymes, jazz chants and sing action songs with correct pronunciation and rhythm.

Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:1. Listen to and enjoy the song Old Mac Donald2. Sing the song with action.

Activities:1. Pupils listen to the song played by teacher.2. Pupils learn the actions for the song from teacher.3. Pupils sing the song with actions along with teacher4. Pupils are divided into groups.5. Each group gets the same type of animal mask each from teacher and colour it.6. Pupils sing along the song with action and by wearing the mask.7. *Pupils will make sound of the animal only if its their group.
