BACKGROUND
SingHealth Clinical Pharmacology aims to provide services and collaborative support to clinicians, clinician scientists and researchers from healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical companies and academia.
We o�er services to support pharma-sponsored as well as investigator-initiated clinical trials (early phase I and II). This includes consultation on clinical study design, generating bio-analytical, pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenomics data and analysis of results.
We also strive to understand the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of therapeutic agents, and their in�uence on clinical outcomes in Asian populations. In addition, we also o�er therapeutic drug monitoring services. In all, this will lead to the development of better treatment regimens and strategies and in turn, promote safer and more e�ective use of medications.

DIRECTOR’S BIO
Prof Balram Chowbay is Principal Investigator of the Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory in National Cancer Centre Singapore and Director of SingHealth Clinical Pharmacology. He is head of the Laboratory Science Coordination Core of Academic of Medical Research Institution and a visiting scientist at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He is also an Adjunct Professor at O�ce of Clinical Sciences at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore and School of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Nanyang Technological University.
Prof Balram has been actively involved in clinical pharmacology research and early phase clinical trials of anti-cancer agents. His research has largely focused on the applications of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics principles to optimize individualized dosage regimens. His contributions are particularly important in the context of Asian populations.
