Blurry  images  hide  not  only  detail  but  also  a  persons  iden<ty.  This  makes  them  come  across  as  mysterious.  The  effect  creates  an  eerie  effect  as  it  captures  movement  in  a  different  way.    

Using  the  blurring  technique  can  be  even  more  effec<ve  depending  on  the  fabrics  of  clothing  used.  Light  weight  materials  create  more  movement  and  also  make  a  ghost  like  image.

Francesca  Woodman  

Francesca  Woodman  uses  a  blurry  technique  a  majority  of  the  <me  as  it  portrays  how  she  has  lost  herself  and  is  out  of  control.  The  direc<on  of  movement  adds  a  drama<c  effect.  You  can’t  iden<fy  the  person  which  makes  the  image  mysterious  and  makes  us  curious  to  what  the  story  is  behind  it.  

This  photo  has  a  lot  of  shadow  so  you  can  not  tell  the  iden<fica<on  of  the  girl.  Making  someone  lose  there  iden<fica<on  makes  the  image  very  haun<ng.  The  image  is  now  only  a  ghost  of  the  girl.  It  is  like  the  girl  has  been  lost  in  herself.

Vintage  photography  have  very  liPle  detail  and  in  this  it  gives  them  a  very  elegant  and  fragile  effect.  The  very  subtle  colures  make  them  seem  faded.    Natva  Kalekina’s  work  portrays  how  old  vintage  photographs  were  captured.  They  have  liPle  detail  which  makes  them  very  aged  and  safisicated.

The  image  is  very  subtle  but  yet  also  has  an  eerie  effect.  The  lose  of  colour  also  means  it  has  lost  a  lot  of  detail.  The  background  has  been  made  burry  so  makes  her  stand  out  and  we  wonder  where  she  is.  The  curtains  in  the  background  almost  hint  there  is  something  being  hidden.    

The  girls  face  looks  like  she  is  lost  and  dosen’t  recognize  herself.  The  black  and  white  effect  ages  the  picture  and  makes  it  seem  eerie.  The  image  is  not  completely  clear  and  this  loses  detail  .  The  lose  of  detail  make  us  try  to  understand  what  is  happening  within  the  image.  

This  image  has  colour  but  it  is  very  faded,  giving  it  a  vintage  feel.    

Vintage  photographs  lose  there  colour  and  lose  detail  over  <me.  Giving    the  image  an  vintage  effect  makes  the  audience  wonder  the  story  behind  it.  

Giving  the  images  a  texture  that  ages  the  image,  makes  the  image  lose  important  detail.  The  texture  of  the  image  seems  as  though  the  photo  has  been  through  a  lot.    

When  a  image  is  copied  a  numerous  amount  of  <mes  it  gradually  loses  a  lot  of  its  detail  and  colour.  This  ages  the  image  and  make  the  image  more  interes<ng.
