The density of the liquid is the weight of a given volume of the cream at 25 o C or a temperature mentioned in the individual monograph compared with the weight of an equal volume of water at the same temperature. REMARKS : The weighing should be carried out for both sample and water at a same temperature. APPARATUS TO BE USED : Bulk density cup. Balance. REAGENTS: NIL PROCEDURE : Weigh a clean and dry bulk density cup. Calibrate the bulk density cup, by filling it with cooled water and take the weight of the filled bulk density cup at 25 o C or required temperature. Dry the bulk density cup and fill it with cooled sample and take the weight of the bulk density cup filled with sample at 25 o C or required temperature. CALCULATION: Weight of sample at 25 o C Bulk density at 25°C =-------------------------------- Weight of water at 25 o C RECORD :

SCOPE :

To find the relative density of the given substance. The density of the liquid is
