SOOCSaxon Open Online Course
The use of social media in business and institutio-nal organizations shaped the fourth section. Besi-des the developments in the professional training
sector, perspectives of Learning 2.0 for higher education were critically discussed including the
benefits and risks of MOOCs in this domain.
The impact of the social web on personal lifes were focused in the third section of
the SOOCs. In addition to data security as a central aspect, open educational resour-
ces were discussed.
Twitter Analytics
In the second section, participants were encouraged to rethink their
personal knowledge management and to experiment with new tools
for this purpose.

The first of four sections dealt with the theoretical approach of Learning 2.0. Besides the concept of connec-tivism, the idea of Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) was discussed.

In advance, formal aspects such as the acknowledgment by the exa-mination offices or the integration in the course catalogs had to be clarified. In addition, the course structure as well as the course website had to be designed.
In order to capture the heteroge-neous previous knowledge of the participants and introduce the course format, the SOOC was opened with a in-class workshop.
