    4K PROJECTORS SHIPPED; EIGHT YEARS OF CONTINUOUS GROWTH

    LAS VEGAS, CinemaCon, April 15, 2013 Sony Electronics is driving the digital cinema

    conversion on all fronts. The worlds leading 4K digital cinema manufacturer is signing on new

    theaters at an unprecedented rate, and developing new solutions that are transforming all

    aspects of a theaters operations.

    Sony has shipped more than 15,000 of its 4K projections systems worldwide, including

    more than 11,000 in the United States, giving Sony an approximate 32% marketshare of total

    U.S. digital screens, according to Screen Digest. Sony also increased 4K product shipments in

    the U.S. during 2012 by 20% to complete its eighth consecutive year of growth.

    Sonys continued success comes at a time when 4K technology is gaining traction,

    especially in professional content creation. Sonys 4K camera line includes three models the

    F65, F55 and F5. Each camera is in use now shooting motion pictures, TV series, commercials,

    music videos, and documentaries -- and generating more 4K content. Combined with recent

    Sony innovations like 4K OLED monitors and Media Cloud Services, the 4K motion picture

    workflow is now more fully developed, completing an end-to-end 4K production solution that

    only Sony can deliver.

    Just as we did with 4K projection, Sony is leading the way in 4K content creation, said

    Gary Johns, senior vice president of SonysDigital Cinema Solutions group. Movie-makers now

    have access to a full 4K production workflow, 4K content is now more widely available, and

    exhibitors have more 4K programming options. The ultimate in image quality, which 4K

    xMassif - Content Exchange Platform

    In addition to revolutionizing whats happening in the auditorium with its 4K projection

    systems, Sony is also creating a new model for exchanging and accessing alternative,

    independent and repertory content among content owners, exhibitors and promoters, in an

    easy to use and secure environment. The companys new content exchange platform xMassif

    -- is an online marketplace designed to provide exhibitors with a broad view of all content

    available and give content owners a standardized model for reaching exhibitors. The new

    platform is in trial programs to gather customer feedback, an approach Sony takes with all its

    new products and solutions.

    Entertainment Access Glasses

    Sonys Entertainment Access Glasses is a unique eyewear and receiver system that

    provides hearing impaired movie-goers with a more complete and enjoyable theater

    experience. Sony has shipped more than 6,000 pairs to customers including Regal

    Entertainment Group, Carmike Cinemas, Muvico Entertainment and Water Gardens.

    Theater Management System

    Sony continues to update its successful and widely used Theater Management System

    (TMS) software. The latest generation is a new version designed specifically for specialty or

    independent exhibitors with a low number of screens per site. TMS Lite will manage up to five

    projection systems and is designed to work with the new Sony SRX-R515P 4K projection system.
