3 Disassembly

The disassembly is done in the following order: 1. Battery Cover Assy (a) and Battery (b) 2. Bezel Assembly (a) and Front Cover Assy (b) 3. LCD TFT 2.0 4. Upper Rear Assy 5. Hinge Assy 6. Lower Front Cover 7. PBA (a) and Lower Rear Assy (b)

3.1 Battery Cover Assy and Battery

Unsnap the Battery Cover Assy using the Front Opening Tool as shown in the picture.

Remove the Battery Cover Assy.

Insert the Front Opening Tool and release the Battery as shown in the picture.

Disassembly

Raise and remove the Battery.

3.2 Bezel Assembly and Front Cover Assy

Insert the Guitar Pick and slide it in the direction of the arrow to unsnap the snap hooks as shown in the picture.

If necessary, slide back and forth until the hooks are unlatched!

Loosen and Remove the Bezel Assembly using fingers.

Remove these six Screws as shown in the picture using the JCIS No.0 Screw Bit.

Disassembly

Slide the phone in open position. There are five snap hooks around the Front Cover Assy that have to be unlatched as shown in the picture.

Turn the phone over. Insert the Guitar Pick and slide it alone top side to unsnap the snap hooks as shown in the picture.

If necessary, slide back and forth until all hooks are unlatched!

Continue to slide it on this side.

Do the same on the opposite side.

Disassembly

Remove the Front Cover Assy with Navi Key Assy.

3.3 LCD TFT 2.0 Unsnap the two hooks using the Front Opening Tool as shown in the picture.

Unfold the Upper Keypad Assy and then unlock the H-H FPC Connector (1) and the LCD Connector (2) using the Front Opening Tool.

Carefully release the H-H FPC (1) and LCD FPC (2) using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Disassembly

Unsnap the LCD TFT 2.0 using the Front Opening Tool as shown in the picture.

Remove the LCD TFT 2.0.

Be careful not to damage the LCD FPC during the operation!

3.4 Upper Rear Assy Remove these four Screws using the JCIS No.0 Screw Bit.

Remove the Upper Rear Cover.

Be careful not to damage the H-H FPC during the operation!

Disassembly

3.5 Hinge Assy Remove these five Screws using the JCIS No.0 Screw Bit.

Push the Hinge Assy in the direction of the arrow to unsnap it using the Front Opening Tool as shown in the picture.

Raise the Hinge Assy.

Make sure the Hinge Assy is in its open position!

Rotate the Hinge Assy horizontally to slide out as shown in the picture.

Be careful not to damage the H-H FPC during the operation!

Disassembly

3.6 Lower Front Cover Remove the two Screws using the Torx Bit No. 4.

There are seven snap hooks around the Lower Front Cover that have to be unlatched as shown in the picture.

Be careful not to damage the side keys during the operation! Insert the Guitar Pick as shown in the picture and slide it along this side.

If necessary, slide back and forth until all hooks are unlatched!

Do the same on the bottom side.

Disassembly

Be careful not to damage the System Connector during the operation! Continue to slide it on the opposite side.

Remove the Lower Front Cover with Side Keys.

3.7 PBA and Lower Rear Assy

Remove the two Screws using the Torx Bit No. 4.

Unsnap the two snap hooks using the Front Opening Tool as shown in the picture.

4.8 RF Plug

Follow the 3.1 Disassembly instruction! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.7 Reassembly instruction!

REMOVAL Remove the RF Plug using the dentist hook.

INSTALLATION Place the RF Plug into position using the tweezers.

Press down to secure the RF Plug in position using the tweezers.

4.9 KRH Label

Follow the 3.1 Disassembly instruction! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.7 Reassembly instruction!

REMOVAL Read the old label and/or write the information into the “Label make” program before removal Note the position of the label before removal Heat up the label by using hot air, if needed Carefully remove the label without causing scratches If there still are residues, clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol

INSTALLATION Check that the proper label format is loaded in the Zebra printer Write a new label by using the program “Label make” and check that the printing is OK Take the new label and place it onto the frame as in the adjacent picture

One label only is allowed!

4.10 Liquid Intrusion Indicator

Follow the 3.1 – 3.2 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.6 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Loosen the Liquid Intrusion Indicator using the dentist hook.

Remove the Liquid Intrusion Indicator using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

If necessary, first clean the surface with isopropy l alcohol. Attach the new Liquid Intrusion Indicator in place and press to secure the attachment using the tweezers.

Replacement: Liquid Intrusion Indicator

Follow the 3.1 – 3.3 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.5 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Loosen the Liquid Intrusion Indicator using the dentist hook.

Remove the Liquid Intrusion Indicator using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

If necessary, first clean the surface with isopropy l alcohol. Attach the new Liquid Intrusion Indicator in place and press to secure the attachment using the tweezers.

REMOVAL Loosen the Liquid Intrusion Indicator using the dentist hook

4.11 Navi Key Assy

Follow the 3.1 – 3.2 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.6 – 5.7 Resassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Remove the Navi Key Assy using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION Position the Navi Key Assy into place and press to secure it in position.

Replacement 4.12 Gasket Conductive Upper Front

Follow the 3.1 – 3.2 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.6 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Loosen and remove the Gasket Conductive Upper Front using the Front Opening Tool.

INSTALLATION Position a new Gasket Conductive Upper Front in place using the tweezers.

If necessary, first clean the surface with isopropy l alcohol. Press to secure the attachment using the tweezers.

Follow the 3.1 – 3.3 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.5 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Peel off the Upper Keypad Assy .

INSTALLATION

If necessary, first clean the surface with isoprop yl alcohol. Attach a new Upper Keypad Assy in place using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Check pointers(1),(2) and (3) as alignment as shown in the picture.

Follow the 3.1 – 3.4 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.4 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Loosen the Decoration Sheet using the dentist hook.

Peel off the Decoration Sheet using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

If necessary, first clean the surface with isopropy l alcohol. Attach a new Decoration Sheet in accordance with the two guiding pegs as shown in the picture, using the tweezers.

4.16 Insulation Tape

Follow the 3.1 – 3.4 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.4 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Peel off the Insulation Tape using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

INSTALLATION Place a new Insulation Tape in position.

Press on the Insulation Tape to secure the attachment.

4.17 Protection Foil for Connector

Follow the 3.1 – 3.5 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.3 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Loosen the Protection Foil using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Be careful not to damage the H-H FPC during the operation. Carefully peel off the Protection Foil in the direction of the arrow using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

INSTALLATION Place a new Protection Foil in position, taking the blue line as the guiding line.

4.18 H-H FPC

Follow the 3.1 – 3.5 Disassembly instructions! Follow the 4.19 Removal instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 4.19 Installation instructions! Follow the 5.3 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Unlock the H-H FPC connector using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the H-H FPC using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

INSTALLATION

Identify the location marker as shown by the Posit ion circle. Insert the end of H-H FPC (without the white line ) to the connector on the PBA using the Flex Film Assembly Tool as shown in the picture.

INSTALLATION Place a new Protection Foil in position as shown in the picture.

INSTALLATION Position a new Camera Key in place using the tweezers.

Press to secure the Camera Key using the tweezers.

Press to secure the Volume Key in place using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION Position a new M2 Cover in place using the tweezers.

Press to secure the M2 Cover using a tweezers.

4.23 Main Key Dome Assy

Follow the 3.1 – 3.6 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.2 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Loosen the Main Key Dome Assy using the dentist hook.

Peel off the Main Key Dome Assy using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Scrap! Not to be reused!

INSTALLATION

If necessary, first clean the surface with isoprop yl alcohol. Attach a new Main Key Dome Assy in accordance with the guiding holes on the PBA as shown in the picture,using the Flex Film Assembly Tool .

Replacement: Main Key Dome Assy

Press around the Main Key Dome Assy to secure its attachment.

4.24 2MP Camera Module

Follow the 3.1 – 3.7 Disassembly instructions! Carry out the replacement as described below. Follow the 5.1 – 5.7 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL Place the Camera Removal Tool onto socket using the tweezers as shown in the picture.

Press down the Camera Removal Tool to the bottom of the camera socket.

Remove the 2MP Camera Module by lifting straight up.

Replacement: 2MP Camera Module

Separate the 2MP Camera Module and the Camera Removal Tool.

INSTALLATION Make sure the orientation of the camera and socket: camera pin (1) into socket slot (2) when installing the 2MP Camera Module.

Place the 2MP Camera Module into socket and press down on each edge to secure its position.

REMOVAL Loosen each corner of the BB Shield Can Lid using the dentist hook.

Remove the BB Shield Can Lid.

INSTALLATION Position a new BB Shield Can Lid in place using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

INSTALLATION Place a new Vibrator in position and press it to the bottom of its cavity using the tweezers.

5 Reassembly

The reassembly is done in the following order: 1. Lower Rear Assy (a) and PBA (b) 2. Lower Front Cover 3. Hinge Assy 4. Upper Rear Assy 5. LCD TFT 2.0 6. Front Cover Assy (a) and Bezel Assembly (b) 7. Battery (a) and Battery Cover Assy (b)

5.1 Lower Rear Assy and PBA

Place the PBA onto the Lower Rear Assy.

Press to snap the hooks as shown in the picture.

Tighten the two Screws (M1.7x5) using the Torx Bit No. 4 to a torque of 17 Ncm.

5.2 Lower Front Cover Make sure all the side keys and M2 Cover are in postion! Place the Lower Front Cover onto the Lower Rear Assy.

Press to snap it until the two covers are jointed without any gaps.

Tighten the two Screws (M1.7x5) using the Torx Bit No. 4 to a torque of 17 Ncm.

5.3 Hinge Assy Make sure the Hinge Assy is in its open position! Carefully thread the H-H FPC into the Hinge Assy as shown in the picture.

Be careful not to damage the H-H FPC during the operation!

Reassembly

Carefully slide the Hinge Assy to its close position as shown in the picture.

Hold the Hinge Assy in a 30o angle and insert the two tabs into the slots on the top of the Lower Front Cover as shown in the picture.

Press the Hinge Assy to snap it in position.

Turn the phone over. Tighten these four Screws (M1.4x3.5) using the JCIS No.0 Screw Bit to a torque of 10 Ncm.

Reassembly

Tighten the Screw (M1.4x2.8) using the JCIS No.0 Screw Bit to a torque of 10 Ncm.

5.4 Upper Rear Assy Carefully thread the H-H FPC into the Upper Rear Assy as shown in the picture.

Insert the H-H FPC to the connector on the Upper Keypad Assy using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Insert the H-H FPC to the bottom of the connector!

Lock the connector using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Reassembly

Check the alignment and tighten the four Screws (M1.4x1.5) using the JCIS No.0 Screw Bit to a torque of 10 Ncm.

5.5 LCD TFT 2.0 Lift up the Upper Keypad Assy(1) and carefully slide the LCD FPC(2) into the slot (between Upper Keypad Assy and Upper Rear Assy) as shown in the picture.

Place the LCD TFT 2.0 into Upper Rear Assy and press to snap it in position.

Carefully unfold the Upper Keypad Assy (1) and insert the LCD FPC (2) to the connector using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Insert the LCD FPC to the bottom of the connector!

Reassembly

Lock the connector using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Press the Upper Keypad Assy to snap it in position.

5.6 Front Cover Assy and Bezel Assembly

Make sure the Navi Key Assy is in position! Place the phone onto the Front Cover Assy.

Press around all sides of the Lower Rear Assy to snap the hooks.

Reassembly

Turn the phone over. Press around all sides of the Front Cover Assy until the two covers are joined without any gaps.

Tighten these six Screws (M1.4x2.0) using the JCIS No.0 Screw Bit to a torque of 10 Ncm.

Check the attachment of Bezel Assembly first, if damaged or dirty, replace a new Bezel Assembly! Place the Bezel Assembly on its position.

If necessary, first clean the surface with isopropy l alcohol!

Press around the Bezel Assembly to secure the snap hooks and attachment.

Reassembly

5.7 Battery and Battery Cover Assy

Clean the system connector by using the brush befor e installing the battery! Place the Battery into its cavity.

Press it into position.

Insert the two hooks of the Battery Cover Assy into the pockets of the Lower Rear Assy.

Press to secure the Battery Cover Assy.
