    songs

I have a song for you little onesHear me sing. Hear my song

I see my own reflection singing in your eyes. But this song will not be yoursNor could ever be.

Someday after the world has closed your eyesYou shall awaken and your eyes will blossomAnd you will hear a songThat is not mine to sing

    But yours.

sing to mesing to mesaid the lake to the birdand so the bird sang

sing to mesaid the grassand the bird sang

sing to mesaid the childand the bird sang again

that night the birdreturned to his birdhouse

the child had leftafter feeding uponthe seeds in the grassand thirsting the watersof the lake

when young became oldwhen young became oldthe sky cried a slow tearas freedom was forgotten

no, old was not defined in yearsnot counted in measures by the earth circlingthe sun

old woke up one dayand only knew it had been conditionedinto something it feared to become

    when it was a child

those before me who stood against Vietnam

who now cry to further killfor our alleged securityand fund more wars with more dollarsmy children will be indebted toand may be elected to fight

when had your stance for peacebeen traded for fear of your brothers

    and for what, I ask

the world methodically conditionsthe mindyouth and freedom will be lostif one does not hold them dear

when young became oldI would sing to youI would be the neighbor arriving at your dooronly because I want to play

remember my facewe are many and we knock today

as fear can be conditionedlove can be remembered

let us sing together in the rain

until blessed does the rain ceaseand the warm sun smilesupon our brow

    and once again the truth

of life and freedom shineand old becomes new again.

that place of lovethere are not enough who will understand these wordsbut I say them stillfor those with memory undimmed

the world once was broken and darksmall rooms with painlittle TVs yell and twisted this little mind

I feared your darkglee to youlike a puppet did I dangle

no most who walk the earth would know not ofthose who encode or those who are impressed upon

so my song still singsa fragmented mind once brokennow only hurts

but it still smiles and would sayit forgives all even so

that they would at least knowof my heart

    even, when my eyes swell

that they too I beckonto the place of lovefrom which I still love

Quest to Christlo, not with weapons do we walkbut for the case for mento put them down

those who can no longer hearthe Holy Spiritis to whomthe carriers were sent

when our brothers who standin the middle trustingthe ways of man

    speaking nothing

    asking nothing

there are those that routethem like cattle into a barn

the answer to their tomorrowis mind numbingand technology to electricallyincrease control

tell me but one technologythat has not someday beenused against our people

we sit and stareand deep down tremble of the night to come

no longer would we tremblefor the Word was bornand the Word has remainedand the Word has carried

    our hearts unto our Father

one day those still sitting in the middletoo will find themselves proddedto the wide gate

and the mark upon them will commit

a man to become a slaveor believe they can own another manthe choice is the samefor both are but a lie

no man may own anotherno man may take the fruit he grows upon his lotand make weapons turned against the very grower

    with no consent

they may try and do these wicked thingsyet the Golden Rule remains

the thief can take all the eyes can seebut cannot deceive soul

    of Christ

for that is all we haveand Amen, as blessedthat the truth of what we areis enough

    Amen and in Christ

tending (verse 2)like a cell tendingto the bloodand an organ tending

    to the body

that a body can tendto the earthas a bird

would so perfectlysing to the sweet dawn

and like the smallest atomwould be the earthboth orbiting around

a system so vast in size

and on and onthese little eyes look outin amazement and wonder

for now let me be this bodylet me breath this airand let me sow my life

lo, Father,lo, Mother, who rest in me as the same in God of loveas all those who stand beside youthe many souls my feet stand strongin Jesus name

let us hear the songis not about uslet us hearthe song

is about who we bring to you

as so many do not know your lovenor your Name

let us not be only fishers of menbut let us make them too

docilitythat which would be necessaryfor the law of man to replacethe law of truth

    would only be compliance

as our mind can rationalizethe ways of powerand apathy

    would return

let the sheep be sheepand both from pressureand technologies we do not know ofsmite

but when we lie downalone in our bedif we would ask

we will feel the pain of our silence

we will see eyes of childrensufferingand we will find ourselvesbelieving we can change nothing

    when we stand again

there comes a pointwhere freedom is not about usfor it is us

    who are free

and no longer is even this enough

so let the words of our heartnot be trapped before they are released

    from our mouth

all men stand for somethingaccept the words of no manuntil they are judged before your own heartin silence besidethe ocean of Love

in-between the world and peaceif one reads words like theseand some days has their heart openedand other days only wishes to run

    fear not

as we take steps to what is most dearwe too will lose pieces we once believedand there is a great strugglealong the road we walk

so many days we will wish to turn backbut we feel so stripped

we know we can never fit in and seethe world the same

I am one of many along your roadbelieve me my brother I knowof the battle you face

I am drumming and chanting your nameand you will know me asI know you

if these words even make sense

blessed in Christ's namewho stands within us all

and yes, what we once knewwill be left behindyet the glory of what we discoverto this,

    Amen

risen rainbowsthey said it was like a rainbowstreaming colors with gold on the endas I graced my steps in search of it all

slowly the sky turned darkand the colors shaded to grey

I could not tell you whenthe walk had changed

I can only tell you the moment I soughtthe wonderful colors of the skydid they somehow appearas if they had never left

only to brush sweetly upon my faceagain

the outrage of timeand swells of the seathat they were not understoodnor sought

as Christ said God wasfor both the Jew and the Gentiletoo would all men have the sameFather

and as a beinghowever haughty we look uponcreatures living by our sideour bodies come fromthe same Mother

some believe in many godsand are told nothing is greater thanseeking the mystery of whateverthey call life

when one stands firmly beforeand tells nothing but the truthfrom time to time will be accusedof arrogance

the truth need not attempt to be humble or proudit is simply correct

if from the mouths of a mancome the words of truththat they are loveand can but extend it

that no terms of time as we know itmovement of earth or its creatures

or threats by a mancould alter that natural truthlet it shineand call it as you may

my dream is for men notto lie alone at night

and wonder what is out thereand fear what they believethey have done

my dream for you is peace

alwaysand I dream it as not onebut one of many

would you guard your mouthand not steal more than you are meant to havefrom your Mother?

would you quiet and askhow you would come to know the truth

    of what you are?

for if we do these thingsit is not a belief but a factthe Mother walks with us as do all her creaturesand our Father comes to us and opens our heartand our dark dreams once dreamed alone

    vanish

in silence do we surrendereven to one minute of time

the blessing of memoryis all we would ask

our bodies will be renewed unto our youthas we learn Her lawsour spirit will sour and fear will ceaseas we realize we are not alone

    in ChristAmen

come to menotes of the harp danceacross the sky and carry the sea

    words of the wind fill

tired hearts full of golden peace

come to meawake, asleep, in seeking, and most of all

    when I have forgotten

come to me in hints that tear the engaged mindfrom a reality I only dance infor the end of all nights does come

    come to me

as to what has remained before the beginningand lasted since the endof what only the body could fear

ohh the sweetnesslike the first sip of water as I imagine true thirstand the next embrace of my earth fatherafter too many years of waiting for his smile

these things too shall we archive

together, not just me, not just himbut all of usinto the great annuals of memory we will share

what could come that could not leavenothing outside would be possiblethus the Father remainsonly the child

    would see the flicker

    alone by a river

and together in thousandsmay we see, come to me,come to us,

    In ChristAmen

    take this small poem

in the dark of night under rainfallwe would say our sweet but sad goodbye

not knowing the amount of time nor if everwould we smile together again

if you told me as a child fishing with my fatherwas the last time we laughed togetherI may have not seen life as it wasfor a while more

as the rain falls and hides the wetness of our eyesthe frustration of being humanso I would hand you this one poem in meager attempt

our words could never represent the thingthey are meant to speak oftelling you of a horse could never touchthe raw beauty and power of the creature in my mind

and then the horse itself, what we see as the physical thingcould never represent the beauty of its creatorthe breath of life sparking through we then only can only starenow twice removed from the very word

and so when I tell you I love youthat I would suffer or die only so you would find peaceso you would have your heart filled with laughter and lovethe truths my little words alone could barely touch

take this small poemand may it not speak to you of mebut of what we share

    take this one poem

and know of all the things my wordscould never seem to get quite right

of all the things of the worldthat made me reach out to hand you thisand stopped me from exploding from this meager bodyand into you in love
