3D Contact Reports The Contact Report Generator has a new Report Template built to generate 3D scenes foreach of your bathymetric contacts.

This will produce a PDF Report that combines the bathymetric contact image with theunderlying bathymetry point cloud into an interactive scene, one scene per contact, that can bedistributed to your clients without a license for SonarWiz. A few examples scenes from a 3D contact report showing the same view with and without thepoint cloud enabled. Example 1:

R2Sonic TruePix as Sidescan R2Sonic TruePix imagery can now be imported by the SonarWiz sidescan processing engine(bathymetric information is lost).

Shaded Relief Controls on the View Menu Shaded Relief Controls are now located on the View menu where they can be accessed andused by any SonarWiz configuration. Shaded relief is used to render grids, bathymetry waterfalldisplays and bathymetry contacts.

Shaded Relief in Bathymetry Waterfall Displays Both real-time and post-processing bathymetry waterfall displays will now use shading whenShaded Relief is enabled in the View menu.

Shaded relief can enhance subtle elevation changes in bathymetric displays that are notapparent from hypsometic color changes alone.

Shaded Relief for Bathymetry Contacts Bathymetric contact images are now shaded in the Target Strip, the Contact Editor and in 2Dand 3D Contact Reports if shading was enabled when the contact was first captured.

Import filters for LiDAR data sets A new import filter is available for LiDAR data that can filter out unwanted data before the pointsare brought into the project. The filter is located under the Advanced... button on the LiDARImport window. You can filter by range, angle or intensity.

Create Acoustic Color Images from Multi-Frequency Data The Seabed Characterization module now provides a tool for creating Acoustic Color Imagesfrom multi-frequency sidescan and multibeam data.

Process and grid each frequency separately, then blend the images together where eachfrequency represents a color band in the output image. It is a powerful way to visualize how theseabed is responding to sonar frequency.

For example: This R2Sonic multi-frequency data set contains 100 kHz, 200 kHz and 400 kHz data.

Better View Control in 3D Viewer The 3D Viewer in SonarWiz has improved zooming and rotation controls designed to make iteasier to move around in large scenes. To zoom: Locate the cursor over the object you wish to zoom toward and zooming will move towards thepointed to object. To rotate: Click the mouse cursor anywhere in the scene, the point of rotation will move to the clicklocation.

Enhancements to Helm Display The SonarWiz helm display has been enhanced with a new altitude window display, newrecording status icons, and the bathymetry display now matches SonarWiz settings.

Display Waterline in 3D Viewer The 3D Viewer can now display the waterline if desired.

New plan view color legend

New plan view color legend The Plan View has a new Color Legend option which can be enabled in the 2D Map Displaygroup of the View menu.

The color legend will draw in the Map Window.

Right-clicking the legend in the Map View will open a small menu where you can change thedisplayed data type or relocate the legend to a different part of the screen. The Color Legend,like other map decorations, will export with the imagery if enabled.
