Differences between Gospels

• How do you get a Roman to accept your Messiah being crucified as a terrorist is legit?

• Equate it to another huge Roman event• Triompe – Emperor’s coronation and declaring

to be a living god – Started with Caesar Augustus– called the Lord’s Day

• Taken from priests of Dionysus – who dies and comes back to life each year

• Mark 15:17, 18 – They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. And they began to call out to him, “Hail, king of the Jews!”

• Pilate would be the only one with a purple robe

II Corinthians 2:14-15

• But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

sacrifice worked
