‘Somebody like you’ Lyrics

Task 10

When looking at the lyrics I have decided that I should create the music video based entirely on the performance of the artist. This is because the lyrics are reflecting on

the past therefore I believe it should follow the convention of a soul music video on

being either all narrative or all performance.

This introduces the artist with the lyrics giving off the impression of her reflecting on somebody in her past with the present tense and repetition of '' I heard…'' This will be in a scenic place with the main focus on the artist so that the audience is introduced to her and the performance and emotion is showed clearly.

The facial expression will be emphasised on the line “but I couldn’t stay away, I couldn’t fight it” to show the emotion of the artist. This allows the audience to relate to the song as it shows emotions within it.

This will be on a plain background with the artist in the foreground and being the main focus as the concentration will be on the lyrics and the expressions of the artist and using a plain background also fits in with the genre of soul music videos.

An idea of this would be the artist is looking towards a house or a figure in the distance to represent the lyrics and the thoughts of the artist.
