Group Residential Housing (GRH)Income supplement to purchase “room and board” and sometimes services

GRH is not paid directly to the recipient

GRH is state-funded, county administered

Around 20,000 people/month receive GRH

The total cost of GRH in 2014 was $140,000,000

GRH PAYS FOR: Room and board costs in licensed or registered settings (adult foster care, board and lodge facilities, boarding care homes, housing with services), or Rent and utility expenses in GRH supportive housing (for people who have experienced long-term homelessness), and Supportive services for people in certain settings who are not receiving waivered or other services.

Monthly cash supplement to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment.

Over 75,000 Minnesotans between the age of 18 & 65 receive SSI benefits.

Average monthly caseload of 30,000 people receiving MSA in 2014.

OR◦ Countable income under $971 and:

◦ Age 65 or older, or◦ Blind, or◦ Certified Disabled

◦Be receiving waivered services.
