Most common is JPG (called J-PEG) Stands for Joint Photographic Experts
Group TIF, PNG, GIF, also common but JPG is pretty
much standard and preferred now.
Don’t confuse with MP3 (music files) or WMV. MP4 (video files)
If you receive a photo, song or video in an attachment you will see these letters called file extensions.

Cropping – Selecting a certain section of the photo and getting rid of the rest.

Standard sizes for resolutions -- Pixels( dpi) 1024 x 768, 800 x 600, 640 x 480, or 320 x
240 The smaller the size, the less space (KB) it takes
up, but also the less resolution…Clarity of picture. You may need to reduce the size of a photo
before you e-mail it. 640 x 480 works pretty well. Reducing the size before you send it as an
attachment will ensure that the person you are sending it to does not get a really big photo with Whale Eyes

You can do this for any file type but it comes in really handy for labeling photos.
