SKYTOPcAMOFeaturing a subtle camouflage motif, as well as holiday-influenced orange accents, this sneaker seems to be catering to that little boy and little girl inside all of us who perpetually dressed up in an army theme every Halloween. There were only 413 pairs ever produced, and they are sequentially numbered on the interior of each shoe.

This limited edition Skytop is outfitted with a heavyweight camouflage canvas upper, accented with orange highlights, black laces, white foxing with white pinstripe detailing, and pumpkin orange sole.

The design is a subtle reflection of the themes of Samhain and Fall, yet is wearable at any time of year.

VAIDERNYC STORE EXCLUSIVEFor those of us who call this concrete jungle “home”, the are nothing as ubiquitously “New York” than its daunting steel skyline, the radiance of glass steeples, and the furies that are NYC taxis. Supra is looking to make that list as the skate lifestyle label release its Supra Vaider NYC Edition. Only 100 pairs were released and they are each indivudally numbered.

R e l e a s e d : 2 0 1 1

It specifically possesses a grey satin TUF upper with distinctive elements including an “NYC” script embroidered on the collar, a black vulcanized toe bumper, a checkered sock liner and a yellow/black sole.

COMMEMORATIVEPACKAs an homage to the fallen heroes of September 11th, 2001, Supra has collaborated with 413 on the “Commemorative Pack” release. It’s hard to believe that more than a decade has passed since 9/11. Supra recognized the 10-year mark of the event that changed the world forever with the Commemorative Pack, consisting of the Skytop II and Society models. Symbolically significant and drawing inspiration from the twin towers of the World Trade Center, these shoes are the tallest in the Supra collection. Both shoes are built with a nubuck upper in a somber grey colorway and anchored with single-wrap honeycomb foxing in stark white. Production numbers were limited to just 413 pairs for either model, with each shoe individually numbered.

Custom insoles are printed with the words “Never Forget,” and a hangtag reminiscent of the NYFD emblem reads “9-11.”

TK SocietyRISING SUNHomage to Japan and its influence on the culture of sneaker aficionados, Supra released its Quick Strike concept during the Holiday season 2010. The special Society edition tells the story of the archipelago nation, Japan, and its mythology as the Land of the Raising Sun. The new rendition of the Terry Kennedy signature features a slightly distressed white leather upper with dual ankle straps and overlay in red canvas. Need less to say, it comes with Supra trademark vulcanized outsole. The Supra TK Society – Raising Sun Edition was only available in limited quantities at select Supra dealers worldwide.

The base is white with black paint splatters and is constructed with a crackled material. Contrasting that por tion of the shoe, both in texture and in color, are the red canvas heel and straps panels. Finally, a red-accented white vulcanized sole sits below.

vans

On March 16, 1966, at 704 E. Broadway, in Anaheim, California, brothers Paul Van Doren, James Van Doren, and three other par tners opened up their f irst store. The Van Doren Rubber Company was unique in that it manufactured shoes and sold them directly to the public. On that first morning, 12 customers purchased Vans deck shoes, which are now known as Authentic. The shoes that were made earlier that day were ready for pick-up in the af ternoon. The company continued to grow into the 1970s. During this

period they also produced wool lined canvas and rubber mukluks under contract to the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Air Force. Skateboarders who liked Vans rugged make-up and sticky sole were seen sporting Vans all over Southern California in the early 1970s. In 1975, the Vans Era was designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. With a padded collar and dif ferent color combinations the Era became the shoe of choice for a generation of skateboarders due to the non slip bottom making it easier to grip better.

By the end of the 1970s, Vans had 70 stores in California and sold through dealers both nationally and internationally. As the 1980s rolled around, Vans star ted to create shoes for a number of spor ts from skateboarding, wakeboarding, motor cross, to sur fing in an ef for t to compete with large athletic shoe companies. Vans Slip-Ons gained international attention and appeal when they were worn by Sean Penn in the 1982, iconic youth film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

VANS IN4MATIONX

RATTLESA warning for those suffering from extreme ophidiophobia, do not continue on with this ar ticle… Dubbed as the “Rattles”, this snakeskin patterned Chukka Low is the most recent collaborative project between VANS and Hawaii’s own IN4MATION. Aside for the white vulcanized sole and simple laces, also in white, its “all snake” or leather imprinted with a realistic snake print. Limited to only 200 pairs, this special edition was only available exclusively through IN4MATION newest retail location, THE HUMAN IMAGINATION, at the heart of Honolulu’s Chinatown.

An all over snakeskin print is an interesting contrast on this otherwise classic skate shoe. Nothing distracts from the clean snake upper. Logos and theme of the collaboration are only featured on the in-sole.

VANS SUPREMEX

CAMPBELL'SThe collaborations between Vans and Supreme are notorious. This time Supreme continued to crank out the quality collaborations, as this time the heralded brand links with Vans on the Campbell 's Soup Collection. The set consists of Vans' Sk8-Hi, Era, and Half Cab models, each decked out in Campbell 's branding. Of course, the inspiration for this collab reeks of pop ar t and the godfather / American icon, Andy Warhol. These kicks sold out within minutes af ter their release, making it one of the most sought af ter collaborations Vans and Supreme have ever done.

VANS ROBERT VERDIX

HERMESCelebrity stylist and TV fashion and design guru Robert Verdi asked Vans to create a series of Slip Ons based on ar twork from some of his favourite Hermes scarves. The rich, opulent il lustrations and vivid colours turn these bare-boned vulcs into decadent displays of ar t. Originally not an of ficial Hermes colab, merely a eccentric fl ight of individual fancy. However, they are being released via this auction for the first time ever.

R e l e a s e d : N e v e r r e l e a s e d b e f o r e

As a little back-note for the un-initiated, Hermes silk scarves are widely regarded as the highest quality, best patterned, and over-all most coveted printed scarves in the world. Generally retailing around $400 (at a lower than average price point), vintage ones are of ten passed down through generations becoming priceless collectors’ pieces along the way. As for Vans, these skatepark staples need no introduction. The entire prospect seems somehow refreshing and new.

VANS COLETTEX

COBRASNAKEThe Cobrasnake, aka Mark Hunter, is a Los Angeleno born and bred. A former assistant to Shepard Fairey, his career as a documenter of global hipster culture began with a site called the Polaroid Scene, which later became The Cobrasnake following sternly worded warnings from Polaroid’s legal department. His collaborative shoe with Vans captures the quintessential late night meal for hungry par tygoers on the go — the classic American cheeseburger. The collab was limited to just 60 pairs and was sold exclusively at Colette, which is located in the heart of Paris.

The Hamburger il lustrated pair of Eras is highly inspired by the Californian lifestyle and iconic Burger joints. The shoes are made from premium 6oz canvas, have cotton laces, natural dril l l inings and a leather collar.

VANS WTAPSX

BONESJapanese label WTAPS has once again linked with Vans to produce a full-on pack of sneaks. The set features Vans' Era, Chukka, and Sk8-Hi silhouettes, as each are decked out in a predominantly Burgundy colorway. This marks the third installment from this ongoing series. The upper is comprised of par t canvas and par t suede, while bones branding has been implemented through-out each makeup. Tonal laces accompany the white and Burgundy kicks.

WTAPS head honcho TET reflects on the collection: “If one has the composure to find a path in life fil led with enough feeling, that person’s emotions can be felt through their creations without having to display them. This is the path I have chosen. I will follow this path to its end.”

BAPE

A Bathing Ape (BAPE) is a Japanese clothing company founded by Nigo in 1993. Af ter studying fashion editing at college, he worked as an editor and a stylist for Popeye magazine. Af ter borrowing four million yen from an acquaintance, who also let him use his shop, he opened "Nowhere", his f irst store, on April 1, 1993 in Harajuku, Tokyo. Deciding to star t his own brand, he named it af ter the 1968 film Planet of the Apes. According to Nigo, the name "BAPE" is a reference to "A Bathing Ape In Lukewarm Water".

Japanese people typically have daily baths in water at tempera-tures above 40 degrees celsius (104°F). As such, bathing in luke warm water is to complacently over indulge. This is, ironically, a reference to the lazy opulence of the younger generation of Japanese, the brand's own customers. To expose the brand he gave T-shir ts to Cornelius who wore them when per forming. For two years he produced 30 to 50 shir ts a week, selling half and giving half to friends. In January 2005, Nigo launched the firstBAPE store in Fallon, Nevada.

The of ficial name, according to the salespeople at the store, is "A Bathing Ape in Lukewarm Water." On February 1, 2011, it was announced that BAPE was sold to Hong Kong fashion conglomerate I.T., in which they purchased a 90.27% stake and purchased a total of 668 shares. Bape is a popular brand among celebrities, with many interna-tional celebrities appearing in magazines and catalogs wearing Bape's clothing.

BAPESTASHARKShark graphic from BAPE is a modern classic that got attention of BAPE fans around the world and fans would be happy to know that the Shark design has been applied to the Bapesta models. The signature patent leather uppers are printed with the Shark mouth on the side and eyes looking backwards to the rear of the sneakers. Four bright colors are produced in yellow, light blue, l ight green and red that are laced up with contrasting colored shoe laces. A Japanese exclusive.

R e l e a s e d : 2 0 1 0

VILLAGE CAMOMANHUNT BOOTBy using dye sublimation technique, BAPE imprinted its Village Camo pattern on the Manhunt Shoes (think of it as the BAPE’s version of the Desert Boots). The result, a photo realistic design with leaves, trees, and hidden BAPE Gorilla motifs. Lined with supple genuine leather in addition to the resilient rubber sole. As par t of their Fall 2010 Collection the Japanese brand has added the village camo pattern to the otherwise classic boot. The outcome is a less than conventional looking shoe. This is the shoe that star ted the

Village Camo series within BAPE products. Asidie from the boot, the pattern made its way onto hoodies, caps and tote bags. Always one to revamp and reivent the camoflage game, BAPE simply did not go wrong with this one. It has become one of the more popular and sought af ter patterns BAPE has to of fer.

BAPESTAKANYE WEST EDITIONWhile much credit can go to the Hip-Hop community for bringing BAPE to the mainstream, no other celebrity deserves more credit than Kanye West. While in his debut prime, West rocked BAPE religiously. And while the whole world was staring at Kanye, it was only right that BAPE created a sneaker just for him. This is possibly the rarest BAPESTA ever released. Rarely anyone besides West was seen wearing these. This is a sneaker that was gone in the blink of an eye.

R e l e a s e d : 2 0 0 6

The bear featured is the same bear that appears throughout Kanye’s first two albums. He is known as the “Dropout Bear.” He has been a running theme with Kanye’s work, eventually becoming a subtle mascot. He first appeared on the cover of “The College Dropout”, Kanye’s first album.

BAPESTAKAWS EDITIONBAPE was definitely one of the catalyst that catapulted KAWS into who he is today and the project that showcased the talents of KAWS were the Bapesta sneakers. The trademark designs such as XX and Chompers teeth patterns are commonplace today but these Bapesta models featured them first in a mass produced products. Released only in Japan’s premier store Clif f Edge, a very small amount of people were able to get their hands on these.

BOAT SHOEBape has collaborated with Regal, which a Japanese company that manufactures high-end loafers, deck and boat shoes, before on a Chukka boot. This collab they represent a classic boat shoe. Their boat shoes feature a peanut colored suede body with a Bape silhouette imprint on the ankle. Unusual for BAPE, they have decided to tone it down and keep it simple with minimal branding.

The shoe features a subtle embossed Bapesta logo on the upper and a gold Bape x Regal logo on the inner sole.

NIKE

The company was founded on January 25, 1964. Originally known as Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS), was founded by University of Oregon track athlete Philip Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman in January 1964. The company initially operated as a distributor for Japanese shoe maker Onitsuka Tiger (now ASICS), making most sales at track meets out of Knight's automobile as Blue Ribbon Sports by Bill Bowerman and Philip Knight, and officially became Nike, Inc. on May 30, 1978. The company takes its name from

Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. In addition to manufac-turing sportswear and equipment, the company operates retail stores under the Niketown name. Nike sponsors many high profile athletes and sports teams around the world, with the highly recognized trademarks of "Just do it" and the Swoosh logo. The company's first self-designed product was based on Bowerman's "waffle" design. Af ter the University of Oregon resurfaced the track at Hayward Field, Bowerman began experi.

menting with dif ferent potential outsoles that would grip the new urethane track more ef fectively. His ef for ts were rewarded one Sunday morning when he poured liquid urethane into his wife's waffle iron. Bowerman developed and refined the so-called "waffle" sole, which would evolve into the now-iconic Waffle Trainer in 1974.By 1980, Nike had attained a 50% market share in the U.S. athletic shoe market, and the company went public in December of that year. Today it stil l remains as one of the most dominant shoe industries.

AIR MAX 1ANIMAL PACKRepresenting the outdoors in a far from ACG manner, these supreme takes on the Air Max 1 and Air Max 95 from 2007 were available to few and too bold for most. The Air Max Supreme Animal Pack features all sor ts of dif ferent animal prints and furs. It is a wild thing, and is very loud. Was this drop another example of Japan being ahead of the trend? It looks that way.

This is a shoe created for the type of person who is loud and who likes to be the center of attention, and boy will they get plenty of it wearing these.

AIR YEEZY 2WOLF PURE/The sequel to one of the most iconic celebrity collaborations since Michael Jordan and Nike. No other sneaker has garnered more attention this early in the year than the Nike Air Yeezy 2. With dozens of unconfirmed release dates, they finally dropped in May. The first pair, originally dubbed the “Zen Grey”, have been confirmed officially as the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum colorway. The new Kanye West designed sneaker comes with lots of details, including an Egyptian inspired design on the strap, dif ferent premium leathers on the upper, a glow in the dark outer sole, an interesting heel construction and a lot more. The sneaker had people camping out as long as a month prior to its release. If you missed out on the first Yeezy drop, then this is your best chance to cop these.

R e l e a s e d : 2 0 1 2

AIR FOAMPOSITEONE GALAXYBesides the Nike Air Yeezy 2, the Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy All-Star was one of the hottest releases of this year. The sneaker caused riots, injuries, and even caused stores in Atlanta, Indianapolis, Orlando, and Tampa to cancel their releases. This sneaker had no competition when it was released, making it one of the rarest sneakers ever produced.

R e l e a s e d : 2 0 1 2 Spaced-out sneakerheads camped in the cold outside city shoe stores for days to be among the first to blast of f in the $220 Nike Foamposite Galaxy. It was relased just ahead of the NBA All-Star game in Orlando, which happens tpo be right near the NASA headquarters

The design is so accurate, down to the textured shoe laces and black pebbled leather on the eyestays. The upper is a deep purple spaced-out scene with a glow-in-the-dark sole.

DUNK SB LOWPIGEONWho knew pigeons could cause this much trouble? When Jeff Staple flipped the ubiquitous NYC bird into a design for his Dunk SB and released just 30 pairs at his Reed Space retail shop, the ensuing chaos even made it on the news. The Pigeon Dunk was par t of the White City Dunk Series and only 202 pairs were released in the World. No other shoe can consistently inspire kids to camp out for days just to land the big one. With so many kids wanting, and so few shoes available, there was bound to be disappointment. But no-one expected the launch to nearly turn into a New York street riot. The sneaker made the front page of the New York post. News around the world and word of

mouth brought the sneaker release in front of those who were not aware of the sneaker culture. Even Staple himself admits the design “was nothing super innovative, but the mythology really carries it forward.” No-one expected the launch to nearly turn into a New York street riot. As he lef t his shop the night before the release, he guessed about 20 people were in line, some camping out for about four days. But come morning everything changed. Staple was welcomed by over 150 people there for the sneaker release, along with the New York Police Department wondering what was going on. The ruckus crowd was on the verge of star ting a riot.

AIRMAGThis was definitely the most-hyped release for a pair of sneakers in years. The Nike Air Mag was taken as a prop from Back to the Future and released to the public for the first time ever, af ter many years of petitions and hopes that one day Nike would indeed drop Marty's sneaker. The best par t about the release was all proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox foundation, and when auctions were going anywhere from $3,000 all the way up to $37,500. The only thing missing is the self-lacing system. But no one is complaing. Only 1,510 pairs were released. These are only THE shoes that Marty McFly wore in Back To The Future II and THE shoes that were known by many as “the most famous shoes never made.”

The Air Mag is the first recharge-able footwear from Nike were designed as an identical replica to the originals seen in the Back to the Future II movie. Some of the constant elements include the upper contours, the glowing LED panel and the electrolumi-nescent Nike logo in the strap. The Nike Air Mag actually i l luminates with the pinch of the "ear" of the high top, glowing for f ive hours per charge.

AIR JORDAN

Air Jordan(s), also known simply as Jordans, are a brand of shoes and athletic apparel designed and produced by Nike for the now-retired basketball player Michael Jordan, who has served as the figurehead for the brand since its inception. The Air Jordan line is now sold by the Jordan Brand subsidiary of Nike. Air Jordans were first released for public consumption in 1985 (Jordan himself f irst wore them as a rookie in 1984), with new designs released annually. Since its introduction into the sports shoe market, the Air

Jordan's global popularity has grown immensely, providing Nike with its all-time top-selling signature basketball shoe. Par tly due to the many styles and color schemes that continue to be of fered by the Air Jordan production company, a consider-ably large secondary collectors market has developed and shoe collectors buy, sell and trade Air Jordans through forums such as eBay, sneaker conventions, consignment stores such as Sole Control in Philadelphia and Flight Club in New York City, and sneaker forums such as Niketalk

and ISS. Sneakerheads, as collectors are known, classify the Air Jordan line by release year and model: "Originals" (the first edition of a par ticular model from its initial launch), "Retros" (re-issues of older styles) and "Player Exclusive (PE)" (Air Jordans that are exclusively available to cer tain sports-athletes). Air Jordan currently sponsors 19 active NBA players including Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony. Although Peter More designed the Air Jordan 1, Tinker Hatfield designs most of the sneakers.

RETRO VIOREOWith its famous heel tab (mimicking the rear spoiler of Michael Jordan’s Porsche), the Air Jordan VI (6) Retro surely a sweet treat. Dubbed the “Oreo” Edition, the white on black colorways resembles those famous night time snack from Nabisco. The design also suggest the aphorism of “dunking” ones Oreo cookie into milk before eating them. Jordan has been quoted that he refers to them as “a new twist on the game shoe that MJ wore as he won his first title.”

One of the more distinctive features on this shoe is the black/white speckled hints seen on the midsole and heel tab. To finish it of f, this shoe is complimented with a clear outsole, white shoelaces and a black tongue.

RETRO IVUNDFTDIn 2005 Jordan Brand collabo-rated with "UNDFTD" (Undefeated out of California) to produce 72 pairs of this amazing AJ IV (4) Retro. These few pairs were auctioned and raf fled of f by the Undefeated store in LA. The color combination is Army Olive, Solar Orange, and Black which was inspired by the MA-1 Flight Jacket. This is the most sought af ter pair of Air Jordan IV's and one of the most wanted pair of Air Jordans period. If you are a true collector and have been hunting for your very own pair, here it is.

Eddie Cruz and UNDFTD did everything right with this oiled suede and flight satin project, which not only took the military as an influence, but was about as dif f icult to acquire as a nuclear weapon. Only 72 pairs exist — count yourself as extremely lucky if you have one.

R e l e a s e d : 2 0 0 5

RETRO XISPACE JAMThe Air Jordan 11 Retro “Space Jam” was easily the most highly anticipated sneaker of 2009. and they may be the most adored Air Jordan XI’s ever. The Air Jordan XI Space Jams are dubbed the “Space Jams” because they were worn by MJ in the 1996 movie. What could be called “The Per fect Storm”, while others called it “Recipe For Disaster”. Whatever the idioms might be, there is little doubt the launch of the storied Space Jams led to pure mayhem at retailers around the U.S. Shoppers had to deal with line-up hundred, even thousands deep. A few unfor tunate sneakerheads had reported that they had to face riotous mobs and hellish disorders, all to come out the ordeal empty handed.

They feature a black upper, which includes black patent leather, along with a varsity royal Jumpman logo. The white midsole, which does stand out and draw attention to the shoe, sits on a clear outsole, which may star t to look yellow because they tend to turn that way with use and even by simply sitting there. This is caused by oxgyen in the air.

R e l e a s e d : 2 0 0 9

The Air Jordan 11 (XI) draws inspiration from a tuxedo design, and it is quite evident with the patent leather, and many of the colorways.

RETRO IIIBLACK CEMENTThe Black Cement Air Jordan Retro 3 (III) color-way is one of the most well known models and has only been released once since its 1994 re-release. The shoe is simply Black and Grey and with the traditional Air Jordan Retro (3) III elephant print. The Black Cement model has of ten been counter feited which makes the chances of obtaining the real versions a lot harder, with all of the fakes running for a low price.

The re-release of the Air Jordan classic sent sneaker fanatics sprinting to the nearest Nike supplier on Black Friday 2011. The shoe sold out in two hours. The kicks have been re-released twice before, in 2001 and 2008.

Their simple combination of black leather, cement grey, elephant print and a few varsity red accents has been considered by many to be one of the greatest color schemes ever. The model uses a tumbled black leather for the upper with elephant trim along the heel and toe. A white midsole adds some contrast and grey tones highlight the outsole and liner. A per fect touch.

RETRO 1BANNEDThis is the special edition of the infamous red/black/white Air Jordan 1, which was originally banned by the NBA in 1985 for violating the league’s dress code. In addition to the X’d out graphics on the heels and the special insoles and box, this pair also featured a return to the original Nike Air logo on the tongue, making it an instant must-have for most Jordan collectors. Only 9,000 pairs were made available and only 160 pairs were up for grabs at Nike factory stores.

The Air Jordan 1 makes a play on the Jordan brand history, which owns a classic “Bred” colorway. Crossing out the Jumpman logos on the tongue, foxing and heel are black Xs, serving as an ode to the NBA’s decision to fine Michael thousands of dollars for each game he wore the non-uniform compliant shoe.
