SOLAR LAYOUT/SITE PLAN

Our solar layouts arehighly detailed and typicallyready for permitting. Weperform detailed shadinganalysis. We take intoconsideration OSHA safetyoffsets and other fire andcode requirements during theinitial design.After performing detailedshading analysis, weoptimize panel placement,azimuth, row offset and tiltangle to maximize energyproduction. Our designsare basedaround the panels, rackingand inverters that youspecify.

SOLAR LAYOUT/SITE PLAN

On your request, we cansuggest the best quality,lowest cost hardware basedon our experience. Aftermaximizing the layout,we can determine systemsize, number of panels, sizeof inverter and rackingrequirements. We alsospecify all major hardware onthe drawing provided.For EngineeringCompanies, EPCcontractors, PPA andArchitects we shall be glad toput the layouts on yourbranded drawing format.

ENERGY MODELLINGWe use all the commerciallyavailable software packages,however we always recommendthat PVsyst be used, since thishas become the defaultstandard in the industry.We don’t recommend PVWattsas it has been known to beinaccurate which may causeproblems with predictingenergy and providing energyguarantees. It’s not only thesoftware, it’s the data andassumptions you put in!Just because someone knowsPhotoshop, it does not makethem an artist! Assumptions onpanel soiling, snow conditions,ambient temperature, wind,panel cleaning schedule, paneldegradation, and electricallosses are often overlooked andresult in poor modelling.

Using our expertise, we canguide you through theproper assumptions andfind the most accurateweather data to use in yourmodelling. Being tooconservative means fewerwatts, and a higher cost perwatt on your project. Beingtoo aggressive has the riskof penalty if the project hasenergy productionguarantees. The energy inthe afternoon is worth moremoney, so we shift theazimuth from the normaldue south to maximizeproduction in the afternoon.

We provide highly accurate electrical oneline diagrams suitable for permitting andconstruction. These include the specifiedhardware, Tie-in connections, wire sizingand other specifications.

We provide electrical three line diagramssuitable for permitting and construction.

DETAILED ENGINEERING

We also offer detailed designing of PVSystems which include site plans, PV arraylayouts, string diagrams, equipment layouts,structural layouts and detailing, electrical oneline diagrams, three line diagrams, DC andAC side wiring diagrams, voltage dropcalculations, wire sizing, deciding the balanceof system, installation and grounding details,signage, labels, electrical notes, equipmentdetails, etc.
