Evaluation

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this

product?

Page 2: Software hardware evaluation

Some of the software I have used...

I used a lot of Microsoft programmes to organise, plan, produce and evaluate my work

For a lot of my Primary research about my audience, I used face book and Survey monkey to collect my information and to display it so it is easy to read

Blogger was the software which helped me display my work easily and so it was easy to read as well

Photoshop was the software which I created my magazine on

Some of the Hardware I used...

I used my camera to take my images for my magazine front cover, contents and double page spread. I took a mixture of live and studio photos for my magazine.

I used a laptop and a computer to create, produce, plan, evaluate and research for my magazine. It also meant this is what I used the different software on. Having a memory stick helped me to

transport all my information and work from the computer to my laptop making it easier to work in different places

I used my phone to take some more pictures and to record my voice for some of my evaluation questions.

Within my project there were four main areas to do...

Planning

Production

Research

Evaluation

I used this mixture of software and hardware in all four stages of my project

I used survey monkey and face book to collect my research for my project. This was more efficient than going out and collecting it face to face as it saved a lot of time

I used power point presentation to create power points for some of my media evaluation questions. This meant I could include voice over and pictures to make my evaluation better.

For my Magazine Front cover, contents and double page spread, I used Photoshop to create them. This meant that had free use of tools such as blur or the clone tool making it easier to create my magazine to the standard that I wanted and what it should have been.

For my planning I used word a lot, to create my flat plans, style sheet and pitch. This was because I was using mainly images and text and it was the best software to use when creating simple pages such as these.

What have I learnt?

I have learnt to use blogger and survey monkey to create my project and research. Without blogger, all my work would be on paper, which would be a disadvantage, as it could get torn or lost making having it on the computer and memory stick a more efficient way of working. Survey monkey helped me as it was a quicker way of collecting the information and statistics I needed for my magazine.

When creating my magazine front cover, contents and double page spread I learnt further information about Photoshop and how to create new things, which would make my magazine better. Without this I wouldn’t have been able to create my magazine to the same level of professionalism or create some of the things which are now in my magazine, because other programmes didn’t have the software available to do this.

Without the technology that I used through out my project, I wouldn’t have been able to create it to the standard it is. Without Blogger it wouldn’t be presented as well as it is and without Photoshop I couldn’t have created my magazine to the standard it was.

If I had to do this project without any of the technology that I used, I would not use word or PowerPoint, however this made my project easier to create and would have given me more work If i hadn’t used these softwares.
