Phonology, Content, or It’s a... The Articulation focus is organized by phoneme and cluster and presents words, phrases, sounds, and sentences.The Phonology focus is organized by speech pattern and is designed to elicit a large number

of productions of the target patterns. The Content focus is designed for clients with fund of knowledge issues. The It’s a... focus provides cueing for clients with Aphasia and Apraxia. After choosing a focus, select a word list for the session and pick one of the eight games to start your lesson.

Two CDs for Phonological Process Therapy

Phonology I and II are $9 each. Have “phun” with both for $15.

Phonology I is a structured therapy based on Hodson’s Phonological approach. The colorful drawings are simple and clear without extra-neous distractions.

Phonology II has exercises with a whimsical element, while focusing on eliciting repetitions. Clients pop bubbles, help a bulldozer do its work, fill a pond with lily pads, catch fish,

grab flying objects as two clowns juggle them, and help a bear locate

his honey jars. And all the while they practice their target phonological patterns. These games are based on the Phonological approach to remediating unintelligible speech.

Phonology

Target patterns are: final conso-nants; initial consonants; initial S clusters; initial L and R clusters; and two and three syllable words. Clients develop receptive and expressive reading readiness skills and improve speech production.

Phonemic Awareness has seven stimulating exer-cises that provide the basics of phoneme recogni-tion and production, sound to symbol correlation, sound segmentation, blending, and syllable seg-mentation.

In Rules, Rules, Rules! students learn the basic rules for reading and spelling by identifying the vowel sound in a word, sounding out the word, and identifying the rule.

“Spelling Test on Friday!” teaches a six-step process–look, listen, say, listen, spell, check–for accurate spelling. Words range from K-8th grade level.

Attention and Memory: Volume I was designed to treat atten-tion and memory deficits from a variety of causes. All of the activi-ties are appropriate for children (as young as pre-K) and adults, depending on the starting point and treatment goals.

The High Level Attention Module of Attention and Memory: Volume I is the core group of exercises in our program for remediation of atten-tion deficits due to attention deficit disorder, traumatic brain injury, and stroke. High Level Attention is available separately.
