RECLAIMED and WELCOMED Back! Columbus, Georgia Chapter
Southeastern Regional Director, Terry Maxwell was on hand to greet and welcome new
members of the recently reclaimed Columbus, GA chapter, back into the active Continental fellowship. Each new member was presented a personal letter of welcome from Director Maxwell. The diligent efforts of the national expansion team, headed by Doncella Milton, and National 2nd Vice President, Mel Kendrick helped guide the reclamation process for this chapter which had been dormant for approximately two decades. Kudos to the “team,” and the Newnan chapter for your commitment. The induction ceremony and brief welcome reception for the chapter’s fifteen new members, was held on Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2017, at the Columbus Public Library. Dr. Eleanor Berry is chapter president. Please join Director Maxwell in warmly welcoming the Columbus Georgia Chapter, back into our sisterly-fold.!

Celebrates Continental Sunday
The second Sunday in September 2017, was designated for the celebration of Continental Sunday. However, due to unfathomable weather conditions during of the year’s hurricane season, this annual fellowship and worship celebration was postponed until later in the months of September and October. The states of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia were impacted in varying degrees by the disruption and/or damage caused by the weather system named “Hurricane Irma.” Described by meteorologists of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, (NOAA), as a massive category 5 hurricane; the strongest Atlantic basin hurricane ever recorded outside the Gulf of
Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, with winds exceeding 185mph. It was labeled a ‘killer’ storm. Chapter celebrations were postponed until later in September and October, to accommodate members needing recovery time. Members in the Sensational Southeastern Region were enormously “Blessed” to report primarily nominal damages. We happily report that those experiencing damages or disruption are nearly now all recovered. Please keep those still recovering in your prayers. Each of the Region’s ten chapters reported successful Continental Sunday celebrations, including welcoming worship and kindred fellowship. Director Maxwell expressed her sincere personal appreciation to all members and chapters for their participation in this year’s celebration, in spite of the delay. She also acknowledged with gratitude the region’s 2017 Continental Sunday member donation of $3,187.00, given to promote/enhance programs and ministries for children and youth in the various churches visited. Director Maxwell said, “It is our prayer that many children were blessed by the Southeastern Region Continentals’ expressions of love”.

Heavenly Father,
Please walk beside us through this day. Clear the heavy air with the lightness of Your Presence. Guide our hands and steady our hearts that we may give comfort when we cannot give hope, that we may give relief when we do not have a cure, and that we may radiate Your healing peace when the limits of science, time, and the human body overwhelm us all. - AMEN
