ConnectionThe people of El Dorado do everything Tulio tells them.Tulio says “being worshiped is a breeze” and that he’s got “El

Dorado on [his] plate.”Tulio tells Miguel “Look, change of plans. We have to grab

what we can and go,” meaning take El Dorado’s gold when he knows that Miguel loves that city and doesn’t want to leave.

My TakeThe movie makers did a great job of showing real life

psychology in a fiction film. They made it clear that Tulio struggles with his self-fulfilling prophecy, and this leads to his use of behavioral expectation confirmation.

The fact that Tulio has such a strong self-fulfilling prophecy sends him and Miguel on the great adventure shown in the film.
