OP SHOPS
Op-shops can be fun as:• there are a lot of bargains to be had• it’s a very social activity hunting through goods
with friends• you will be supporting a charity that is using
the op-shop to raise money
Op-Shops can be a very cheap and economical way to shop but do not take more money than you can afford.
ACCESSIBLE SOCIAL GUIDE FOR EAST GIPPSLAND 41
To organise an op-shop tour for a group:
• Decide with your group if you are going to meet at the first op-shop on the list or travel together from another starting point.
• Confirm that at least 3-4 op-shops in your chosen area will be open when you plan to go. This saves money on transport costs. Op-shops generally run with volunteers and have more limited opening hours than regular shops.
• Have fun and happy bargain hunting.
