In order to engage, interact and target our product to our audience I decided to use the viral marketing form; social networking. I initially created a twitter account (@Mission808) as result this allows us to keep potential fans interested as we are continuously able to inform them on up coming events, singles or videos. In addition to offering them an insight to follow our personal lives as we can frequently update tweeting about our plans for the day, uploading images with our friends or simply tweet about what we are having for lunch. Twitter is used vastly by many celebrities in particular music artists for example @disclosure @rihanna Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service which enables us to make tweets releasing vital information such as tour dates, post videos and images: Mission 808 upcoming videos or new album covers and photo shoots as well as speak to fellow tweeters on a personal basis providing them with any information they seek to know. In conjunction with out twitter page I have created a Instagram account to connect directly with our audience through uploading pictures and videos on a regular basis to give them a visual insight to the developments of the band. Instagram has become increasingly interactive and does not only allow you to like images your followers have posted but furthermore allows you to see the images/videos on a live feed that instagramers are currently liking. Therefore allowing us to reach a wider range of fans, we can also link our Instagram page to both Twitter and Facebook as a result when we post an image or video it will appear also on those timelines. Furthermore we also have a Facebook account for the band, in addition to the Twitter and Instagram accounts. Facebook is social network that many people of a wide age range are familiar with, so it publicises the band as well as broadcasts our music updates to a wider group of people. Facebook is a site a larger audience are familiar with allowing us to tap into other groups of people – such as parents. The result of this is that we can become more recognisable to a variety of people therefore increasing the publicity of the band.
