St. Pete in the Arts Enclave of Historic Kenwood Job Title: Social Media and Outreach Purpose: The Museum of Motherhood seeks to actively enhance student’s educational experiences, preparing them for real life situations and future employment. We are an exhibition and education center concerned with the interdisciplinary study of mothers, fathers and the evolution of family. Duties and Responsibilities: Act as liaison between the general public and the museum Forge connections between local non-profits and other birth and parenting locations Learn how to use a variety of social media sites and develop relationships online Network to increase online interactions with MOM Create and develop initiatives such as fundraising and educational opportunities Develop content Create and implement social media posts Learning Goals: Become familiar with the social, cultural, and public health issues families face Learn about mothers, fathers, and families from an interdisciplinary perspective Practice using online tools Maintain the museum’s social media sites: Instagram, Pinterst, Twitter, and Facebook Research and connect with local community partners Form relationships with other arts, health, science, history, and museum organizations Gain social media experience Time Commitment: 5-20 hours per week Requirements: Students should like using social media to interact and be eager to learn new skills while disseminating fresh content. Some writing skills and an ability to identify compelling art as well as social issues are essential.
