SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING
LINKEDIN, TWITTER & LEVERAGING
Employees & Social Media• Leveraging your internal social network is the process of creating
social media posts and campaigns that will be shared by your
employees, vendors and customers.
• Only 13% of employees engage with their employer’s social media.
However, 88% of people employed in the USA use at least one social
network for personal use. Over 50% of them post regularly.
• How to get employees involved:• Encourage employees to submit content to you for posting. Photos,
videos and other media make great posts.
• Encourage them to share by using them in photos or their work in
your posts. “Ashley volunteered at Meals on Wheels this week!”
• Share your investment into your employees. “Everyone came out for a
sales training seminar in the park today, then we played Frisbee!”
LinkedIn• LinkedIn has company pages and personal pages.
• Use your personal profile for networking, finding
industry leaders and influencers and spreading the
word from your Company Page.
• Actively connect with other local business people.
• Company pages allow customers to learn about your
business and for you to post company-specific content.
• Connect your employees with your business and they
can help share your content.
LinkedIn• Post information from your blog or other articles on
your LinkedIn company page.
• Share the updates from your company to your own
business connections.
• Write content that your employees would like to share
with their business connections.
• Linkedin content should be by professionals for
professionals and a step up from general consumption
articles. You can also use B2B style language and
industry terminology.
LinkedIn Groups• You can create groups about your industry or local area.
• Join existing LinkedIn groups about related topics to
your business or job and you can gain valuable insights
and spot upcoming trends.
• Connect with other industry professionals, not just
people you know. Someone somewhere else may have
knowledge or insight that you need.
• Connect with suppliers and vendors and you best
customers.
• Engage by endorsing, liking, commenting and replying.
TWITTER• Twitter is made for current events, also things like TV
Shows, current events, etc, in real time.• On Twitter you can post many, many times a day.• Uses #Hashtags for search.• You can create your own hashtag, like #hillchamber.• Post pictures with location to take up more space in the
Twitter feed. You can post groups of photos also.• Share content on Twitter from your other networks.• Make sure to monitor your account for responses,
