Lately I have been reflecting on the fact that we as a society sometimes depend upon technology a little too much.

Technology has made our lives so much easier and more simple, but I fear that it has also paralyzed the way our generation

thinks and behaves.

COMMUNICATION WITHOUT FACES IS NOT COMMUNICATION

Addiction To Technology

You prefer texting to human interaction. The average teen sends 50 text messages a day or about 1,500 texts a month. Texting has surpassed all other forms of communicating with friends, including talking face-to-face.

You are Facebook-obsessed.We measure ourselves by the number of people that “accept” us.

You constantly use texting abbreviations.

Video games have replaced all other forms of entertainment in your life.

You grab your gadgets before your keys or wallet when walking out the door.

The production of too many useful things results in too many useless people.  ~Karl Marx

A NEW KIND OF SOCIOLOGY

• Technology enhances communication, it doesn’t destroy it.

What We Should Do• We should use technology but keep it under

control• Parents should monitor and limit a childs

access to games and computers.• Students should take part in real world

activities like sports not only virtual ones• Social Networking should be about getting to

know people better not about being “virtually popular”
