Haryana Power sector comprises four wholly State-owned Corporations viz HPGCL, HVPNL, UHBVNL and DHBVNL which after unbundling of the HSEB in 1998 are responsible for power generation, transmission, distribution and trading in the State. These utilities and the HERC work under the administrative control of the Deptt. of Power which is headed by Principal Secretary, Power.UHBVNL is responsible for Sonepat . DHBVN caters to Hisar, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Mewat, Rewari and Narnaul districts is 4368.01 MW. The distribution companies are at the moment serving about 41 lac consumers of different categories. The Haryana Power Utilities (HPUs) are making a befitting contribution to the overall development of the State.

The electricity from power plants travels for many miles. It travels over long wires called transmission lines. These transmission lines are held in the sky away from the ground by giant wood or metal transmission towers.

Management of solid waste involves waste generation, segregation and storagewaste collection; waste transfer/transportation; treatment, recycle, reuse, recovery; and disposal.

For effective waste management, its segregation at the community and neighbourhood level is imperative. the waste shall be segregated and collected, in separate chambers at dalaos.

For this, involvement of rag pickers with RWAs, CBOs and NGOs is to be encouraged.

Sewage is generated by residential, institutional, and commercial and industrial establishments. It includes household waste liquid from toilets, baths, showers, kitchens, sinks and so forth that is disposed of via sewers. In many areas, sewage also includes liquid waste from industry and commerce. The separation and draining of household waste into greywater and blackwater is becoming more common in the developed world, with greywater being permitted to be used for watering plants or recycled for flushing toilets.
