The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, provincial, and local governments such as the Township of Tiny and federal and provincial health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people.

The Township has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 at its organized recreational programs; however, the Township cannot guarantee that you and/or your participant(s) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending recreation programs or similar activity could increase your risk and/or your Participant’s risk of contracting COVID-19.

Conducting a Self-Screening Assessment Prior to attending an organized recreational program in the Township of Tiny, participants, guardians and/or spectators must complete a self-screening assessment:

Do you have any COVID-19 symptoms?

The most common COVID-19 symptoms include fever, new or worsening dry cough, shortness of breath and/or a sore throat. For a complete listing of symptoms, please visit the Ontario COVID-19: Stop the Spread webpage.

Have you had close contact with a conrmed or probable case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days?

If a participant, guardian or spectator answers ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, it is understood that the participant, guardian and/or spectator will not attend the program.

If a participant, guardian or spectator has attended a Township recreation program in the last 14 days and either:

1. develops any of the COVID-19 symptoms, or 2. have come into close contact with a conrmed or probable case of COVID-19,

the individual must contact the Township of Tiny immediately, arrange to get a COVID-19 test and advise the Township of the results as soon as they are received.

If the test results are negative, the individual may return to the program for the next scheduled session.

In the event that the test results are positive, the individual must not attend the program until a negative COVID-19 test result is received. If a participant has paid for the session, the individual will receive a prorated account credit refund to use towards another applicable recreation program.

Face CoveringsParticipants are not required to wear face coverings while practicing and playing.

Participants and spectators are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings upon arrival and departure as distancing may be challenging when individuals navigate the space.

Welcome to the ProgramTiny is proud to oer a new child and youth tness program, which draws heavily from the fundamental movements needed to play soccer.

Over the course of six weeks, participants will take part in skill lessons, cardiovascular tness circuits and specially designed obstacle courses.

This program is tailored to children and youth who love being active, are passionate about sport skills, and would benet from an organized outdoor program. The goal of the program is to help participants build upon their tness level, and develop fundamental sport skills to be used in a variety of activities – not just in soccer!

Equipment & FacilitiesA soccer ball is included in this player welcome package. Participants are expected to bring this ball to and from each soccer session.

Water will not be available on-site so participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own. A portable toilet is located at the Soccer Pitches but is not sanitized on a daily basis. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be provided.

In case of rain and/or inclement weather, the program may be cancelled and a notice posted to the Program Cancellations webpage at tiny.ca/recreation/status.

Facility equipment (i.e. soccer nets, pylons, etc.) is not sanitized. Equipment will be set-up and taken down by Township sta. During designated program times, the Soccer Pitches will be exclusive to program use.

Program Outline & Modications Tiny’s soccer program has been modied in order to eliminate unnecessary contact between players, and help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Unlike a traditional soccer league, there will not be any game play at the end of practice. Instead, each practice will focus on helping participants develop skills in the following areas; balance, running, core strength, jumping, agility and endurance. Players will also focus on soccer related skills such as kicking, passing, and dribbling.

Each evening will follow a similar pattern:

ArrivalHead straight to your designated net (see the Field Map diagram on the next page). Sign in with your coach, who will ask the self-screening assessment questions, and sanitize your hands.

Warm UpFollow along with the coach’s warm up (i.e. walking, jogging, sprinting). Remember to keep your physical distance (at least two-metres) from other players.

Cardio CircutRotate through the cardio circut stations. These stations are designed to help improve your endurance, agility, and overall tness (i.e. obstacle courses, exercise challenges, etc.).

Soccer DrillsRotate through the soccer drill stations. These stations will focus on three major soccer skills: kicking, passing, and dribbling.

Cool DownFollow along with the coach’s cool down activity (i.e. yoga poses). Remember to keep your physical distance (at least two-metres) from other players.

Participant & Spectator ExpectationsPrior to each weekly session, participants and spectators must conduct the health self-screening assessment outlined in this package.

Participants must sanitize their hands with their coaches when arriving at their assigned net. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be provided.

Spectators must remain on the sides of the pitch (outside of the touchlines) for the duration of the session unless otherwise directed by a coach or Township sta.

Sta will be present during designated program times to support the program protocols. Sta have the authority and discretion to immediately eject any participant(s) and/or spectator(s) who fail to adhere to protocols. Program refunds will not be issued in cases of ejection.
