• Click somewhere on the desktop OR
• Click the Finder icon on the Dock: OR
• Use Command(z)+Tab to swap between your running applications and select the Finder icon:

SoCA Server Usage – Check Connection
• In your open Finder window, click the “socax” server under “Shared” in the Finder Sidebar, you will get a list of volumes available. The volumes that have an “eject” button next to them, are mounted (connected)
• The “Share Screen” button will not work as you do not have permission to view the server screen.
• You also have an icon on your Desktop that represents the mounted volume

SoCA Server Usage – Check ClassInfo folder
• In your open Finder window, click the “socax” server, then select the ClassInfo volume and find your subject folder:
• Or double-click on the SOCA_ClassInfo folder on your Desktop:

SoCA Server Usage – Submit to DropBox
1. In your open Finder window, click the “socax” server, then select the SOCA_DropBoxes volume and find your subject folder
2. Ensure your files/folders are named correctly! 3. Drag the files/folders from your source folder to the correct DropBox:

SoCA Server OS X and external drives
• Always eject your connected devices after use! • This applies to network drives, USB hard
drives ,USB sticks and FireWire drives! • OS X might not write all data to your external
device straight away. You WILL loose data if you simply unplug your drive without ejecting it!

SoCA Server OS X and external drives – Network Drives
Methods of drive/device ejection include: • Click the “eject” icon next to your device in the Finder
Sidebar: this ejects ALL network drives mounted from the server
• Click the “eject” button on the individual network drive in Finder: this ejects only the drive you have selected:

Methods of drive/device ejection include: • Click the “eject” icon next to your device in the Finder

• Control+Click the USB key/drive on your Desktop and select “Eject” from the context menu:

Methods of drive/device ejection include: • Drag the USB key/drive/network drive icon on the Desktop
towards the Trash, the Trash icon changes to an Eject icon, and release the mouse when the gray “Trash” help-text appears:
