1. Make the camellia oil soap base following the instructions for your preferred soap making method on "The Process" page.

the mica and essential oils. 4. Reserve approximately 1 1/2 cups of thinnly traced soap to make the marble. 5. Add the mica to the larger portion of soap base and blend well with your stick

blender. Then add the essential oils.6. Pour the crimson coloured soap into your soap mold. 7. Slowly drizzle the reserved white soap over the crimson soap in a grid like

pattern. Alternate pouring from high up above the soap mold and low down close to the soap mold. This will insure a more even distribution of the white soap.

8. Using your spatula or other stirring device, gently swirl the two colours of soap around in the mold. Don't over do it or you'll blend the colours together.

9. Finish up as per the instructions for the method you are using.

Champagne and Roses"Homemade Soap Recipe

A decidedly feminine homemade soap recipe, Champagne and Roses is sure to delight those partial to fruity floral soaps.

Olive Oil Soap Recipewith Calendula and Chamomile

This olive oil soap recipe is a great choice for someone with very sensitive skin. This recipe includes calendula, chamomile and oatmeal for their healing and soothing properties.

Camellia Oil Coconut Milk Soap You may have noticed that I really like Camellia Oil and Coconut Milk in my soap recipes! Especially those homemade soap recipes that are on the plainer side. I use Camellia oil because it has so many great properties that appeal to me and my skin type. If you have a preference for a particular oil...say avocado, hemp seed, apricot kernel, sweet almond, etc....you can substitute it for the Camellia oil. Just be sure to run the recipe through a lye calculator to obtain the new lye amounts.

As for the coconut milk...you don't have to use it at all if you don't want to....just increase the water amount by the amount of the omitted milk. Another option is to swap milks. If you really like goat's milk, use it instead. That's the great thing about making homemade soap...you can make it whatever you want.

Chromium Green Oxide 1/8 tsp. (0.625 ml)

1. You can make the base for this homemade soap recipe following the instructions for your preferred soap making method on "The Process" page.

2. When the soap has reached a thin trace add the scent blend and the white mica.

3. Pour off some of the base into 2 containers. The amounts do not need to be even but should be around 1/4 of the full batch for each container.

4. Add the ultramarine blue to the largest portion of soap...what's left in the pot....and stick blend very well. Oxides like to clump and it's a pain in the butt! I like to mix my oxides with a bit of white mica....using the back of a spoon to break up the clumps. For some reason the mica helps it mix much better with the soap base.

5. Pour the blue base into your soap mold.6. Add the chromium green oxide to one of the containers you poured off

previously and stick blend well. Pour the green soap over the blue in a grid like pattern. Try holding the container at different heights to the mold while pouring. This places your green soap at different layers within the blue soap.

7. Now pour the remaining white soap base over the blue and green...use the same varying heights pouring method.

8. To swirl, run your spatula or thermometer stick through the soap going from side to side (in an 'S" pattern) following the direction you will be cutting the soap. This will give the flowing seaweed like look.

Soap Ribbons 200 grams

Jade Mica for thin line

Ultramarine Blue for thin line

Ultarmarine Blue 1/16 tsp.

Hydrated Chromium Green Oxide 1/16 tsp.

For basic instructions on how to make homemade soap, read The Process page and then follow the directions below to make Coconut Milk Soap.

Weigh out water and remove 1/4 cup. Heat the water in the microwave and add the coconut milk powder, titanium dioxide, orris root and icing sugar. Mix well and

place in a sealed jar.

Combine the Ultramarine Blue (1/16) with the Green Oxide making sure all clumps are removed. Put in a ramikin and put aside.

Put a small amount of Jade Mica and Ultramarine Blue in a small jar. Stretch a piece of panyhose over the top and secure with an elastic. This will allow you to

sprinkle a line between the two layers. Alternatively you could use an old salt shaker.

Place essential oils and Rosemary Extract into a small sealed jar. Prepare the soap ribbons and place all additives into the oven to keep warm. Weigh out the lye and add to the remaining water. Continue the soap making

process as usual until a medium trace is reached. Add warmed and thoroughly combined coconut milk mixture to the medium

traced soap and blend well. Pour off about 2 cups of base into a container and put aside. Add the Ultramarine

Blue and Green Oxide powders to the main base and mix well. Blend the essential oils into the main base and add the soap ribbons. The base

should be creamy and fairly thick by now. Pour the whole mixture into your prepared mold.

Tap the mold on the counter to remove any air bubbles. Sprinkle a light layer of the mica mix over the main base. Too much and the top will not stick.

Mix up the plain soap that was put aside until it is quite thick. Pour or dollop it onto the mica layer and roughly spread out.

Put the soap to rest as usual and cut when cooled.

A Rose Milk Soap Recipe. This soap recipe is great because it uses inexpensive and easy to find base oils. Crisco, lard and grapeseed oils can be found in most grocery stores and produce a soap that is surprisingly hard and conditioning. Coconut milk powder adds a richness to the lather and the castor oil makes that lather bubbly.

This recipe does contain lard but if you want a vegan bar you could substitute shea butter, mango butter or palm oil (be sure to run the recipe through the lye calculator again before making).
