Dermatology Consulting is one of only a handful of clinics in the UK to be run by a fully accredited Consultant Dermatologist. Dr Anne Farrell graduated

from Oxford University Medical School in 1989. She has specialised in dermatology full time since 1992, training at the Chelsea & Westminster and Charing Cross Hospitals in London and in Oxford, and became a consultant dermatologist in 1999. She has published more than 40 scientific articles and book chapters on a variety of dermatology subjects. During her time at Oxford she was awarded a Doctor of Medicine Degree for a published research thesis. She continues to teach on and attend national and international courses and conferences, to ensure that the treatments and lasers she uses are the most advanced and effective available.Dr Farrell also undertook a graduate fellowship in cosmetic dermatology at the University of Miami as well as attachments with leading cosmetic dermatologists in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Utah and California. Americans are accustomed to visiting their dermatologist as often as they would see their dentist, and will see their dermatologist regularly not only for their skin problems, but also for all their cosmetic and rejuvenating skin treatments.

Dr Farrell wanted to bring the best of both UK and USA dermatology practices together in one accessible clinic. As a consultant dermatologist, she is fully trained to treat all skin problems ranging from skin cancer to acne to rashes. In addition, as a dermatologist Dr Farrell is in the best position to offer cosmetic skin treatments including wrinkle reducing injections, laser reduction of wrinkles, fillers, laser hair reduction, laser treatment of redness, broken veins and rosacea, tattoo removal, treatment of brown marks, microdermabrasion and scar reduction.The latest exciting addition is the Fraxel Repair carbon dioxide (CO2) laser which was launched in the UK in April 2008. This is a revolutionary new way to correct the most severe skin damage and scarring without the risks, complications and prolonged downtime of other resurfacing lasers and peels. Fraxel is unique in treating tiny microscopic columns of skin each just one-tenth diameter of a hair follicle so that only a fraction of the skin is treated at a time (15-50%). The result is dramatically faster healing than other resurfacing lasers and peels, but with noticeable results in a single treatment. Dr Farrell is the second dermatologist in the UK to have the Fraxel Repair and has trained with some of the earliest expert users of this laser in the USA. Ours is one of only four Fraxel Repairs in the whole of the UK.
